Just when I thought it would never happen, it DID!!

ok - so if you've been reading any of my recent blogs you know that I joined BLC15 on January 5th and FINALLY have made a habit of ST. I've been on this journey since April of 2008 and lost most of my weight by a combination of watching my food intake and walking - walking a LOT! Like 50 to 60 miles a week. But I got to a point where no matter how much I walked the scales were stuck - at right around 160 pounds. I knew I should be doing ST, but I didn't like it and just couldn't make myself do it.
I 'found' SP in January of 2010 but didn't begin using it actively until August 2010. Early on I found a group of Sparkfriends who really helped me on my journey - my regular contact with them kept weight loss in the front of my mind. And since we have a lot in common (all being in the 'over 50' group) I felt as if I'd made new friends. With their help for only the second time in my entire adult life I managed not to gain over the holidays - in fact I lost a bit.
I joined BLC15 because one of the things I saw as their goals is ST - the goal was to do 5 of the 10 minute ST videos a week. I hoped that I'd do for my team what I hadn't done for myself - DO ST!
I got that and SO MUCH MORE from my team! Its been over 20 years since I weighed under 150 and then it was only for a few months. And for the first time I feel confident that because of the lifestyle changes I've made with Sparkpeople I'll be able to MAINTAIN my weight loss this time!
