Duathlon Training

Well I signed up for a duathlon this July. I am so excited about doing one of those. I will be curiuos to see just how well I do in it. It isn't long distances, but it is a start for me. I start off with a 1.2 mile run, then I do a 17.1 mile bike ride, which I know I will do well at, then I finish up with a 3.2 mile run. This running thing is all pretty new to me, but looking forward to doing it. 2 months is more than enough time to train for this, and if I like it I plan on doing more of them this summer. Training started today in the snow. Thought we were done with that stuff. Hit the bike tomorrow. If anyone has any pointers for me, I am willing to hear them.

    I am interested in seeing how your race goes..I was researching duathlons because there are 2 in my area in October...One is a 3 K with a 12 mile run, the other is 2-12-2. I will never be a triathlete unless a swimming miracle happens but the bike/run combination intrigues me. good luck to you! emoticon

    Good luck! How much running do you do now? Got a good pair of running shoes? I'm not that good of a runner, so other than having the proper gear, I'm not a ton of help! Good luck with your training!
