The Changes are Working!!

Well I'm almost to my 6 month Sparkmark of eating healthy and trying to get as much excercise as I can and I believe I can say that I've made some very good progress on 2 of my 3 goals....check that....I've made progress on all 3.
1. Lose weight over time - 6/1/11: 229 lbs; 11/9/2011: 216 lbs (-13)
2. See if this change can help me with my meds - 11/9/2011: Doctor reduced my cholesterol medice by 1/2. (Total cholesterol @ 159)
3. Set a better example of healthy living form my kids - My kids now wait for me to make egg white omlettes on the weekends, drink smoothies with me, eat 7 grain bread at Subway, salmon, etc.
I've eaten more fish in the last 6 months that I have in my entire life. Bacon and egg sammy's in the morning have been replaced by oatmeal, fruits and egg white omlettes. Lunch no longer consists of steak sandwhiches, grilled cheese and bugers, but now are salads, grilled chix, grilled salmon, and yes occasionally a cheeseburger or pizza (still need some balance). Dinners at home and on weekends have gotten much healthier. No way 6 months ago I would be passing up on bagels and cream cheese or bacon and eggs (on Sunday mornings) - but now it's "mostly" clean.
To all those that have stopped by and provided support I thank you! You guys rawwk! I hope I have been able to do the same for you.
Sparkpeople, as many, many of us have said, works and it has definitely helped me stay focused - and makes it easy to get back on track when I have a bad (but delicious weekend!).
