Especially for my team - the Violet Venuses

Friday, October 11, 2013

Phil and I are spending 10 days in Paris, touring on our own after spending 9 days on a bus tour of Switzerland. You'll be seeing more pictures on my SparkPage, but I wanted to post this one just for my Violet Venus team. It is me admiring the Venus de Milo in the Louvre. Please look closely at this statue - she is not nearly as slim as those models we often strive to emulate. Good abs though - did she work out? Hmmmm.....

Hmmm - now I'm looking at her in a whole new way LOL. Those perky... assets..... didn't come from a male model but maybe the body??

Aww, thanks for thinking of us while you were in Paris! And I thought the same as Nan, that Venus looked like she had manly abs and perhaps a man's body was used as the model? Odd, never quite thought of it that way. And if you notice she has manly hips too. I wouldn't be much of a judge on all this if it were't for watching The Maury Povich Show and becoming somewhat of the family expert on Transexuals.

Marilyn.... Venus was ripped. I wonder if they used a male model.

LOL I AM racking up tons of steps (17,063 yesterday and that's about average for the last week or so) but I LOST my fitbit on top of a mountain in Switzerland a week or so ago! Fortunately I was able to find a pedometer the next day but it doesn't upload into SparkPeople like my Fitbit did!! I'll order a new one soon but we don't go home until Wednesday and I didn't want it to get there before I do!!

Maryellen, stranger things do happen - we chatted briefly while in the security line at Versailles Thursday with a woman from Scotland who lives in Maryville, TN now. We saw the SAME woman at the Louvre yesterday!! As HUGE as the Louvre is, what are the chances? We also saw a couple after about an hour in Versailles who we'd chatted with on the train going there. Again, what are the chances?

Have an awesome trip - I hope you have time to do lots of touring in Paris because it is AMAZING!!

I and three friends are leaving for Paris on /Sunday. We'll be doing a river boat cruise from Paris to Normandy and then going on the Mont St. Michel. From the looks of it I think we would be best served to take umbrellas! Maybe I'll run into you! Stranger things have happened!

Wow, awesome!!! I wondered why you didn't seem to be racking up endless miles on Fitbit. Enjoy your vacation and can't wait to hear more about it. Yes, women in the Renaissance era certainly were more voluptuous than is fashionable now...*sigh*....
