My Secret Identity???

Monday, November 03, 2014

As a part of this week's WEC we are to write a blog about 'What is your secret identity?' (That's right, TWO blogs in one WEC!! Yikes!)

This was a hard one for me - at first I was completely stumped. I'm very much a 'what you see is what you get' kind of person. For many years in my younger life I tried to be what everyone else wanted me to be, but in my late twenties I decided I couldn't please everyone so I'd just please myself by being me.

BUT as I read a blog by one of my teammates a light came on in my head!! There IS someone inside me who wants to come out! She is organized - really a minimalist! She wants to live in a home where there is a place for everything and everything is in its place. She wants to give away the things in her home she doesn't REALLY need - because there is almost certainly someone in the world who DOES need those things.

Do I have the courage to let her out? I am not sure - I've been TRYING to let her out for almost two years now. Sure I've made progress, but NOT enough. More on this project to follow (if I allow her out)!!

This is a great idea to share. In high school I was weary of other peoples comments on what I should be, especially since they were not living their lives either. Something in side of me started asking, "Who do you want to be today?"
Note for material things: My son told me to take a picture of the things I want to remember, and then give them away. How did he get so wise?

Wow! That is a great someone to have inside you!

I'm on a couple of SparkTeams that deal with being more organized and simplifying things. If you want to check out my page, the one that you can see on my page, without looking at all my teams, is my favorite and the one I would most recommend. You would love it if you like meeting people in the teams. And there are a ton of articles that have been posted there by the leader of the team, who is really very nice. I post helpful stuff there sometimes too. We are all decluttering, organizing, and maintaining our spaces.

P.S. I am adding you as a friend, I hope that's alright! emoticon

    Great Blog!
I want to let my inner minimalist out as well! But she hides into the deepest recesses of my being whenever I wonder where do I begin?!
Best wishes on your excellent journey.

Letting go of things are always tough because we hold memories to those items and are afraid our memories will be lost once we let it go not realize that it is material and our memories are forever.

    You got this my friend!!!

If you do let her out, your children will bless you when they are able to go through your estate without feeling overwhelmed with your vast amount of "stuff."

I am the same way, but what holds me back is my husband. He's the exact opposite - a "you never know when you might need this ...." type of guy. emoticon
