Some Photos from our Great Smoky Mountains vacation
Wednesday, April 22, 2015
As many of my SparkFriends know, my DH Phil is an avid hobby photographer. We are on vacation in the Smoky Mountain National Park and the bear sightings have been amazing. I thought I'd share some of my favorite photos:
Phil shot this photo on Monday - so far its my favorite!
Isn't this a beautiful turkey?
Phil shot these from the van - the bear crossed the road, got a drink of water from a puddle, then calmly crossed to go back into the trees:
These are from yesterday:
This guy isn't quite as close to the bear as it looks in the picture, but he was WAY too close! Phil said he was within about ten or fifteen yards from the bear (park rules say to get no closer than 50 yards to one.)
On our drive yesterday afternoon we saw bear in three separate areas of Cade's Cove. Here is a mother bear with a cub (another onlooker told me it is about a year old.)
This is a picture he took yesterday on our hike on the Middle Prong Trail (we LOVED this hike and highly recommend it if you visit this park)! This one is just from his phone - he hasn't downloaded the rest (too excited about wildlife!)
