Dust Off the DVD Challenge Day 1

Saturday, December 05, 2015

In order NOT to indulge in unnecessary spending on exercise items that may become defunct, I've set myself a 'Dust Off the CD/DVD' Challenge each day to Christmas.

I confess that there's a row of them!
There will be no mercy.

I shall take a fresh one each day in the order they run on the shelf.
No skipping or picking favourites.

Believe me, some of these are really old.
Compulsory - One 20 min or whatever-it-says section.

#1 on the shelf: Rosemary Conley 'Slim and Salsacise' (2004). Warmed up and completed Section 2. (Section 1 runs through the steps and is also suitable for beginners.)

I had an idea of the steps but hadn't bargained for so many cha-cha-chas.
Relentlessly enthusiastic but very clear instruction and gives plenty of warning of what is coming next, which is useful for good knee positioning.
Rosemary's team had lost 18 stone between them. I can understand it.
Lots of variations on a frilly top (It is 2004!). Luckily the men get to wear normal Ts.

Great for the hips and the step count.

I love it! It can be so tempting to keep acquiring more and more fitness videos in the hopes that the next one will be the one that works. But the fact of the matter is that NONE of them work if we don't USE them! And they probably all will work if we DO use them.

I think I am going to use this as my January Resolution. I have too much going on before that to start earlier, but I like knowing the next challenge I have lined up. I initially wrote that it would be my New Year's Resolution, but even I don't have a whole year's worth of different videos to dust off. One month of doing this is an attainable goal. After that, I'll stick with my favorites.
