Opinion Please

Saturday, December 26, 2015

I have a job interview on Monday and need some opinions, please. It is at an eye doctor's office as a receptionist/opthamolic tech. So I want to look professional but still stylish.
Here are the options: Outfits in brown, brown pants, white top, blazer or a sweater

Outfits in black: black slacks, white top, pink top, black blazer, or mauve top and burgendy blazer.

Outfit that is a black/gold strip top and gold pants:

Or the last outfit is navy slacks, white top, navy blazer: I have wore this outfit to a few interviews and didn't get the job so not sure if I want to wear this one.

Asked hubby and all he said is he didn't think the brown with the sweater was very professional.

Good luck!! I agree that the jacket is more professional. I have a lot of experience with job interviews. I would NEVER pretend to know it all, and lord knows, it could be argued that I don't because I have had more than my fair share of rejections. But I do think you need to look as professional as possible. Remember that it is possible that you will wear the jacket/suit to the interview and never wear that outfit to work if you do end up with the job. Even if the atmosphere is business casual or even more casual than that, dressing up will show that you are serious about the job. Also, if the atmosphere is not casual (which may be the case in a doctor's office), you will be embarrassed and maybe judged poorly if you are under dressed. I once heard advice that you don't want to dress up because the interviewer may think you are stodgy. I guess that is possible, but I think it is highly unlikely. Personally if somebody felt that way about me (and I never dress up after I get the job) I would just as soon not work for them.

They are all lovely! However, I agree that a jacket always looks more professional than a sweater. Best of luck!

I agree on the mauve stripe. All the outfits look nice but I would pick a jacket over the sweater. Good luck!
