Finally home Thursday 2/18 afternoon but not without more excitement.

Saturday, February 20, 2016

I can laugh about Thursday now but was not laughing then. Ashley's hematologist, pulmonologist, and even cardiologist were ready to release him on Tuesday and Wednesday but the hospital dr. said "No" as he did not like Ashley's numbers (BP and HR). He let us think until 4:15 that we would leave Wednesday when he sent word that he wouldn't sign the papers. Thursday morning he finally came in about noon and Ashley politely told him off--don't tease about letting him go home. Dr. said we could go home an he would go sign the release forms right now. He did. Now it has been a long time since we have be in a hospital and had to get prescriptions. The "hospital(?)" calls them in/sends orders by computer/etc. We get back to Douglas about 3:30 p,m. I go to Wal-Mart about 4:15 to get new heart med--they look at me like I am crazy--no order. I come back home and the only number I could find was to Willie (cardiologist PA) and it was to their office (which closes at 5 p.m. I explain to a wonderful lady named Kathy what is going on and ask her what to do. I knew he had to have this med or he might go out of rhythm or even have a stroke. Kathy told me who to call at the hospital (whose general number was not in any of the paperwork they had given me) and talk to Ashley's nurse. Before I could find a number she called me back and had talked to Willie who called Wal-Mart with the prescription. I could have kissed him I was so grateful. Now Wal-Mart was so understanding of my not being able to drive at night (ha, ha) they said it would be ready in about 2 hours. This was about 5:30 (sorry you can't see at night) but thank god, Ashley said he could drive--just didn't have strength to walk. Yes, I did get his new med and all is going well now.

Friday, Donna (local daughter) spent the day with us as her mother-in-law brought her to our house and left, then Kristina and Haley brought the babies Lyla and Baylen for about 5 hours, and Tori and by for lunch too. We did have a busy day with company from 9 am until 6:30 pm.

Today has been a quiet day and Ashley has even gone outside to his shop to look around. Did not stay long, but did go outside about 20 minutes.

I want to thank everyone for the prayers, positive thoughts and encouragements you has posted on my blogs. I know they ramble but they did help me mentally. Just expressing my frustrations, fears, helped me get my positive self back in control. When things have been "bad" in the past, I had mama, daddy, even my in-laws and they were always so supportive. It did show me that I can do more than I thought I would be able to handle and ya'lls support helped too.

Again, thank you, thank you, thank you.

So glad you're both back on the right track! I'd be real proud of my man if he would tell a doctor off in an appropriate manner, too!
