The harder I try the "worser" I get.
The moderation theme has me confuzzled!! I try to say no food is good or bad and no food is off limits, but I still constantly obsess about cheesecake and sweets, sausage and bacon. It seems this particular healthy trick is elusive at best. And I know I can have one and then another tomorrow if I want, but if I have one it turns into a whole dozen. My heart and my brain seem to be at odds with each other. Go figure!! One of these years this habit will sink in!! Maybe.....some day.....

I know what you mean. Sometimes I really get a craving for something like a donut. I say to myself, "you can have just one, it's been a long time since you had a donut". So I eat one but it's so good that I want another one and it is harder to say no to the second one than it was the first. It's like it triggers this nearly uncontrollable craving and internal struggle. Truth is, I am way better off just not having the first donut to begin with. It gets easier to say no as time goes by but I know I will always love donuts. emoticon

Learn from your experience. If you find that you overeat something every time you have it, but you still want to lose weight, something's gotta give. I'm like that with pizza. So I have it, but only a few times a year.

ActiveGrandmaP wrote a great blog entry in which she says that some of us are moderators and some of us just have to abstain from certain foods - not forever, but to indulge only now and then. Moderation is fine for those who can do it. I can't. NBD.

Maybe you should examine Why one turns into a dozen There has to be a reason why. If you can figure that out then you can work to get rid of that problem &:it's more than lack of self control. Hoping you can figure this out truly I do. best wishes
