The big Change-UP

This week it was easy to change things up a bit. While caring for my daughter I managed to spend a lot of time outside dragging broken branches up to the very large burn pile and raking leaves to burn. I must admit I had a burn pile so big it looked like a funeral pyre

but it burned up REALLY fast. It also escaped it's boundaries and that will definitely get you moving quickly and frantically!! But it was pretty easily contained, thankfully!!!

But next week it's back to normality and that means changing up my total workout routine. I row for my cardio because it's easy on my joints and works a LOT of muscles all at the same time. I've been doing pretty consistent paces to get into the routine so now I'm going to add in HIIT style rowing. I will do a warm up period and then row as hard and fast as I can for 1 minute and rest for 1 minute. Over the next couple months the hard period will increase in 15 second intervals and I will also increase my total time on the machine.

For strength I'm adding in some new to me exercises that incorporate several muscle groups at the same time. Functional fitness!! And as usual I'll increase weight and drop reps and work up again to my 15 rep/3 sets goal. I have free weights, resistance bands and a stability ball to work with. Should be exciting.

And of course I will always do just what I can and not overdo anything so as to cause an unwanted flare up of my RA. But a challenge is always a good thing, too!!
