BLC 42 Goals
Thursday, January 02, 2020
I have adapted these goals (and this blog post) from my goals from BLC 41, as they are still relevant and are still my goals.
The BLC runs for 12 weeks, from January 8 to March 31.
By March 31 I will have lost 15 pounds from my starting weight on January 8. I will do the following to help me achieve this goal:
*I will use intermittent fasting and a low carb high fat diet, using healthy plant based fats.
*I will set weekly exercise goals that will encourage a gradual increase in frequency and duration.
* I will strength train 2 times a week.
This goal is relevant to me for several reasons. I had a total knee replacement June 24. I cannot believe the difference it has made in my overall health, including my mental outlook. I had no idea I was in so much pain until it was gone! This increase in mobility has led me to want to go back to work so I can be around people. Our daughter is a senior in high school this year and I NEED to get involved in something outside myself.
I decided to substitute teach. In the process of applying to substitute teach in the district where I live I needed a letter of reference from my former principal, in a different school district. She wrote the letter, then asked me to please consider subbing at my former school. I found out there were 2 teachers who will be having babies and I told her I would be interested in taking their maternity leave positions. She has let me know she has requested me as a sub for her school, which I'm hoping will lead to a job offer for next school year. I have been so lonely at home since I've been feeling better.
I want to be healthy so I can be active. I want to be lighter so my new knee will last longer and so my other joints last. I want to do everything I can do to deal with my osteoporosis. I want to be ABLE, physically, to substitute teach and to return to work full time if I decide to do that. I want clothes shopping to be more fun! I'd like my feet to not hurt. I want a stronger back to protect my spine. I want to look good in the graduation photos from my daughter's graduation in May. Our daughter has asked to go to Disney World and Universal for her graduation trip in June and I want to be able to do all that walking and not feel tired.
I will achieve these goals!
