So I'm back. Life has been chaotic over the past few years.

Eye surgery in Jan 2018 to have a stent put in. No more eye drops for glaucoma but had lots of complications; not allowed to exercise or bend over or even do too much house work for about 2 months. Ended up gaining a great deal of weight as menopause hit full force. Tried anti depressants for the hot flashes but just gained more weight so stopped taking them.

The hot flashes are more reasonable now and my weight has remained stable. I was told a couple weeks ago that for the first time in my life, my cholesterol is slightly elevated. Time to make diet and lifestyle changes. I lost a few pounds so far and am now at 190. Looking to lose about 40 more hopefully.

My mom moved in with us about 4 yrs ago. She has the beginnings of dementia and it's challenging. She loves her cookies and ice cream and while I'm able to resist those, she is unable to understand why I don't want any. Makes it difficult to refuse her but so far, I'm able to hold fast to my resolve.

We moved to a small town at the beginning of July and I retired a month later. We've been working on the house and so I've been very lax about doing any exercise. With winter snow however, I can't get outside in the garden and definitely need to get back on track with exercise.

Life feels a bit crazy..... but I'm back and hopeful that I will manage to stay on track this time. My journey starts today. One day at a time... one step at a time.
