Today is Wednesday?
Wednesday, July 08, 2020
I believe the day is Wednesday because it is trash day. Otherwise, the days blur. I am okay with that though because I don't really have much else to do outside of the house. A couple of weeks ago I started a focused purging of stuff. I am determined to use this time to get rid of the clutter that consumes my life. It is a slow process but this house is FULL! But it feels great to see clear spaces in my house now. I even can eat at the dining room table if I want to without having to move stuff to have space. This purging will definitely keep my busy throughout the summer. I hope to continue being motivated.
Someone recently said that they cannot wait for things to "return to normal". I can! I do not want to go back to the way it was before when I bought stuff and packed the house or the freezer or the fridge just because I could. This has been a difficult time some days, but it also has helped me just be. I rarely do that and am always finding ways to be busy.
I have been able to reduce my credit card debt which has been wonderful! I have tried hard to avoid online shopping and rarely go out to stores.
I have cleaned out some clothes I haven't worn in a while or do not wear. Clutter just keeps my unfocused and this stuff needs to go.
I have gardened and am growing some great crops. This will be nice to have during the next couple of months so that I don't have to buy produce at the store. And I can be sure that I am not consuming pesticides.
I have read 2 books so far as well and am working on another one! As an educator, that rarely happens during the school year.
I have gotten to spend a great amount of time with my dog, Elvis. This has been such a treat and I am grateful for him as I would not have gotten through some days without him.
I have cooked a lot. Although some days it feels like a chore, I have been happy to try new recipes or revisit old favorites.
These are just a few of the pluses I have experienced since being home. I am not unhappy with the positive aspects of the pandemic even if I do not know what day of the week it is.
