I had an okay day today, other than going to Lowe's to buy a thermostat I stayed indoors. I got a few things done around the house.

My thermostat was saying replace batteries. I had no idea it needed batteries to begin with. I replaced the batteries and it still said to replace the batteries. I called the company that installed the furnace 4 years ago and they sent a serviceman out. He said that yep it is dead and it would be $456.00 for a new one. I said what?? I can't afford that right now. I paid him the $89 service fee. I found a thermostat for $60 that is really sad that the thermostat is less than the service fee.

It has been a long time since I did anything involving electronics and I was reading the guide. I called my oldest son and asked him if he could install it. He wasn't able to make it today. I'm ok now it has been getting a little chilly in the house overnight into the morning. In a couple of days we will be having a high in the 20's so I am hoping he can make it before then. He just works very long hours. If he can't I'm going to really try to get it done myself.

Today I have a 2 hour virtual chronic pain class over Microsoft teams.

Have a great day!

    Good luck with the installation.
Yes, it's a fact of life that the service call costs more than the product itself.
    Same thing with auto repair.
