I wasn't too active yesterday I was feeling so drained and for some reason my whole body is numb. I can't feel myself touch myself at all. I had a video doctor appointment already set up for this afternoon as a follow up from my ER visit a couple of days ago. My WBC was quite elevated at my ER visit and my CT scan showed colitis in lower bowel he said. At this point it could just be the constant constipation and bloating issues I have been having as the cause for the colitis and the high WBC. He also said that the prednisone I am taking can also cause my WBC to be high. I take the last of my prednisone on Friday. He wants me to have bloodwork done on Monday to recheck my WBC and a few other things.

I had my first day of my virtual chronic pain class today it is 2 hours a day every Thursday for 6 weeks. Today we went into the basics of how the brain reacts and responds to pain. We went over 3 ways to help to get calm. One way is deep breathing and to do this throughout the day. Second way is practicing guided imagery. The third is to begin a gratitude journal and to write in it at least 3 times a week and for at least 15 minutes each time. Write down 3 to 5 specific statements with depth over breadth and personal over generic. I have been using an app called Gratitude for about 2 months now and I love it.

It is getting chilly in the house I am okay with it for the time being as I am always so hot so as of now it feels good. It is 23 now at 2am. My son wasn't able to make it over here today so I am going to try to install the thermostat myself tomorrow.

    I used to facilitate a chronic pain group, and I deal with it daily. Sometimes it gets the better of me, honestly. The things you're learning can help, they can be tools, but you have to remember to use them. A lot of people don't. I have a raft of health issues, but my favorite thing is counting my blessings. I do the other stuff, too, but that one works for me.
