Why I started on my health & fitness journey. It's a weird way to come to exercise, but it is what brought me to it.... A broken leg! I slipped on ice and had a very nasty break that kept me in a wheelchair for about a year and in a boot for longer than that! This was in 2008 and I got an invitation to Spark People from My Points and I joined. I remember in the hospital they asked me how much I weighed and I told them 180, which was sad, but truly I was around 190 at the time! I joined SP in March and started drinking water first. then in May SP had a Swimsuit Bootcamp and I found I wanted to exercise! I think the wheelchair made me want to move! so, I started exercising in my chair. I did all I could seated and longed for more! I moved into water rehab and water aerobics because I was moving in the ool with no issues. Until.... I broke a screw holding my leg together climbing a pool ladder. The Md put me back in my chair! so, I looked up as many chair exercises I could find. I bought DVDs because I wasn't familiar with You tube yet, but I adapted sso many SP workouts to my chair or to my stability ball.... I did the jump rope and jumping videoes on the ball! In January I could walk on my boot, so I joined a belly dance class. My friend taught it and her friend worked with me individually because I was blind! boy was she surprised I had a broken leg too! but, yep, it all started with a broken leg and not being "allowed" to exercise! I finally reached my first weight loss goal in 2017. since then I have gained alot of the weight back, but I exercise every day and still am not as fat as I was, even with added pounds!

Now to lose these pounds again!

Things I'm doing right, right now: Drinking my water, exercising daily, working on being kind to myself, eating my freggies, stretching & relaxing!

*1* Breaking my leg. It was a long heal, but it brought me to SP and to the desire to exercise! It also made me want to lose weight!
*2* The leg finally healed. I wasn't sure at one time!
*3* While I feel weak so often after a bout with Covid, I am here to tell you about it!
*4* Workout videoes with clear verbal instruction!
*5* Hubby & Sassy because they make my life whole! Jack was still with us when I broke my leg.... He was a constant companion as were my parents and 1 of my friends! I am very blessed that those people and that dog helped me recover!

Happy Ground Hog Day! I assume he didn't see his shadow due to the winter storms in the North East, but I haven't a clue!
