What a Cutie Pie!

February 9th is National Pizza Day!

My favorite pizza is everything on it, no peppers, add garlic, extra cheese... and I can easily eat 3-4 slices in one setting.

But now I'm trying to be careful what I eat... so how do I honor this amazing, not to be skipped, wonderful national holiday but keep with my diet??

Well, I could skip pizza all together. hmmm... but then it will stay on my mind and it will grow into a craving and then I'll give in and I'll eat any pizza at all just as long as it is a pizza!

That's out... let's see how we can modify:

I know that you can order thin crust or thick crust and it makes sense that the thin crust is less calories - but when I put everything on it with extra cheese and garlic, the thin crust doesn't hold all my good stuff.

Learning from the School of Google, this site: www.eatthis.com/
pizza-health-tips/
has some interesting ideas, including asking for a "double slice". Never heard of this but the idea is that if your pizza is 8 slices, you ask them to double slice it and now it is 16 slices. And then you eat 1 piece, eat nice and slow and then grab another piece if you are still hungry (and I'm pretty sure I would be!)

Soooo...Maybe I don't get the extra cheese, limit the meat and obviously load up on vegetables.. that may be doable... I do like vegetables - but then I want pineapple on it. Oh and ask for double slicing it!

What is your favorite pizza and what will you do to make it healthier for this day?
