A&I Week 2 Blog Challenge

Sunday, February 14, 2021

So the challenge for week 2 on the Aspire & Inspire team is to write about an invention. Since we have had extreme cold warnings all week it made me very thankful for our furnace. So that got me thinking on when was the first furnace invented. I was surprised to find that the first American central heating system was invented by a woman, Alice Park, in 1919. Her invention then led to the first coal fueled, electric fan and ductwork distributed forced air wall furnace around 1935. I just have to say, I am very thankful on these cold winter days for her invention.
