49 years ago we moved from in town of dayton ohio to rural flat country farm house
Little did we know how bad it was going to be living with 45 mile an hour wind our house was built 1900 old windows doors cracks in foundation well water. Having a heard of sheep to bring them water help them birth babies road closures schools closing
the doors would whistle in the wind snow would come into the windows of living room water pipes would freeze no toilet little to no heat it was something we lived with.
the kids managed we just did it????
now windows and doors update. propane heat new water pipes won't burst but can still freeze. I am looking forward today to 25 maybe. Its tuff then throw in covid and restrictions icy roads drifts 2-3 feet in driveway we just manage it

What fun living in the country can be. We dreamed of it when we first started out 45 years ago. It just never came to fruition. Probably a good thing. We know of friends and relations who have lived like that for many a year. One family has to pretty much close up their house during the winter months and live strictly in the kitchen, living room area with the wood-burning stove for heat. No indoor bathroom either. Their choice. Of course, they always have a beautiful garden every year.

Hopefully spring brings welcome change. The vaccine is out as well. Hopeful for a better year.
