April 13- Again..Plans are made to be changed

Tuesday, April 13, 2021

I even took time to teach my DIL how to order groceries online for pick up so we would not have to go into the store..but there were items she forgot..plus there were items they were out of and we needed to go in to pick up substitute stuff. So many "pickers" with their multilayered carts ..not many "real" people. Lots of cars in the "pick up" area..seems to be catching on. They are saying most of the cases of Covid happening here are the new variations ..so once again caution is needed . If only folks would consistently follow guide lines..ahh so tis!!
Chilly here and once again the clouds have rolled in to block the sun. They are saying perhaps rain..or even a possibility of the white stuff!! We need the moisture that is for sure! Tonight the news said that there is no longer a "fire season"...all the year needs to be considered a fire risk with the drought going on for so long. Our forests are suffering for sure.
Not much going on out in the barnyard..I did some searching for another Gander but everyone I call on I get the warning that he can be mean. Hmmm I guess raising one is going to be my only option if I decide to replace a gander. Jack every now and then would half way challenge me and I would grab him..walk him around for a bit ..then he would be fine for a long time. I do not feel like fighting with a full grown goose to try to decide who is boss. We had that worked out..dern racoon!!
So now the crew is working at the other end of the house. I think I will get ma a hot cuppa and retire to my lil safe haven ..let those young folks handle this!
Ya'al have a good night and a peaceful rest!

Figuring out the curbside pickup process was interesting for me, too. Now I start a list as soon as I need/want something. I just don't choose a time or date for pickup until I'm ready. And I like that if they run out of something they'll ask me if the substitute they picked is okay--9/10 it is one of the higher priced products, but I get it for the original price. I've ordered kitchenware and over the counter pharmacy things at the same time. I never thought I'd like it, but I've grown to love it!

Masking just seems like a normal thing now, although I heard a customer at a local hardware store berating a checker about the "rules." She was remarkably patient, but the conversation ended when she pointed to the exit and said "There's the door, sir." He shut up and paid and left. Sigh...feel bad for all the guff so many have had to take over such a simple thing to do.

It's so strange when I read comments on FB about "local" stuff and COVID, I think it's the out of staters putting their comments in. When I'm even out for a simple walk, 99% have their masks on. I AM THE ODD BALL on that, unless people are near me, or I am in a more crowded outdoor area, I keep mine off. It's just so much harder to breathe. I've switched over to the paper ones only they are easier to breathe.

In the grocery store, I'm still mostly seeing regular customers with a few pickers. I don't mind the pickers they are doing a service just either choose to not do or can't do. Shop. Personally I still LOVE shopping, if COVID hits us harder and our numbers ARE going up, I may consider letting someone else get mine for me. Might.

Hope you can find or raise a good gander. Okay confession: You KNOW I am a city gal. I've heard the expression for an EON of years "What's good for the goose, is good for the gander." But just now,, hehehe OHHHHHHHHHHH A GANDER IS A MALE GOOSE!!

    Am I serious? Or not?

    We'll never know.

Sometimes I feel like these Covid complications are a worldwide political conspiracy!! Yep, that's how much this is affecting me!
Bummer with finding a gander. Maybe raising it is lovely? Have a great restful night.

You are talking to the choir, Sister. I'm glad people somewhere are being sensible. Too many here are not.

I have always wanted chickens but have been afraid of them since one of my MIL's roosters attached her.
