Frost on the Roof
Saturday, July 28, 2007
Yesterday, I was talking to my dad. He usually calls me on Fridays to see what's happening. I see him usually once a week. He turned 80 last December and is very healthy for his age, with the exception of his vision. He has macular degeneration, the kind that is untreatable. So reading and driving are problems for him.
He asked me how much weight I had lost. I told him 28 pounds. He said that's great. Now, you need to do something with your hair. I knew it was getting shaggy, but his next response surprised me. You need to get rid of that frost on the roof. He said you're slimming down and you don't want to look like an old woman, so go talk to your beautician and get your brown hair back.
Boy was I surprised, I didn't think he noticed with his vision problems. So I guess I will see about getting my brown back.
