Decision making

Thursday, May 06, 2021

Discussing decision making with a 19 year old. First year of college under her belt. However, she did it in her bedroom in her grandparents home. Not what she expected. She is going to be off to Portland in August and in an apartment. Discussing life and the choices we make. She is unhappy with a teacher she had and is discussing ways to handle this. Seems the teacher picked one student (not her) and picked on them (over zoom) and made a lot of people uncomfortable.

Trying to tell her that sometimes it is more important how you adapt to what is thrown at you than anything else. A big part of college was learning to jump through the hoops of professors and program rules and regs. Getting applications and papers completed on time.

Every decision you make is important. She can make a complaint or she can go on and forget about it.

No one said it is easy.

Have a great Thursday everyone.

If it was on Zoom there would be a video record of it.
If only administration would take a look at it.
Tough though to actually make a complaint.
Some people should not be teaching.

Great lessons for growing into adulthood. We're seeing our daughter trying to teach those skills to our granddaughter, who wi be entering college next fall.

The end game is completing her college work and receiving that diploma. Like life, many hurdles are before us to overcome. Hope your daughter is able to put things in proper perspective. Not easy to take when one in authority isn't fair.
