May 14- Weekend coming up!

Friday, May 14, 2021

I know I have posted that one before but I do love it. How likely is a sleep in with the pups and other critters...ahh zero to none..but thas ok. To wake the sound of the rooster crowing and the wild birds singing..even the Humming birds buzzing our heads is wonderful!
We stocked in groceries today since it seems the weather is going to send us the moisture we need, all in one week! We will see! At least we are ready!
Hermine hurt her left leg today. She is limping but still moving, not sure what she did. I have to admit the idea of lifting and holding a full grown domestic goose is a bit more than I believe I can manage. However, Angela and I double teamed her, I walked beside her watching her leg and looking for injuries while Angela walked behind her to see the pad of her foot and if her leg was straight or if there were any wounds. Tis still a mystery so will be watching her carefully the next few days. There were no obvious wounds or injuries, no stickers in her foot pad nor signs of rock wound or anything. It was cute that as I walked along side of her talking to her she kept answering me so we had a nice long Mum to goose conversation. She never seemed to get upset that I was pacing along side of her so perhaps she was able to sense that I was worried and checking up on her.
I still have two large red hens that are double teaming a nest...an empty nest by the way. They however are sure that they are going to hatch babies and refuse to leave . When moved out of the nest they hit the ground clucking like hens do to call their babies. Shortly after that both of them were tucked one on top of the other back in that nest. There is a nice large nest next to the one they crowd into..would they use it..OH no! They like this one!
A light sprinkle this PM...clouds rolling in and winds turning cool. Should be a good night for sleeping..our Bed time routine challenge starts for a week tonight. So gonna buckle down and give it a very serious effort. Realistically usually in bed by midnight..so should be good.
Ya'al have a good nights rest and enjoy your weekend..cause when you wake in the AM...

I hope little Hermine is okay. I really like her. We are expecting lots of raining too. Nothing like someone horning in on your nest- I wonder who built it.

I hope the lot of needed rain that is coming in a week does very well to your place. Awwww, Hermine, so sweet talking and walking with you. May she gets well soon. Those two hens give me chuckles! Have a pleasant day!

LOVE the 2 pictures!! Awww the doggie with the duck slippers!! That's something I'd do EASILY!!

Sure hope Hermine is okay. NO DOUBT she knew you were both watching her to see if she's okay. Izzy is on an antibiotic until a week FROM TUESDAY!! YO!! LOL I might have to have both arms bandaged to the MAX, I may need new fingers (9 should do if I am careful) and a new face!! But, she'll be healthier. Poor little hens, wonder if they'll notice no babies in the normal amount of time there would of been.

OFF to bed I within 20 mins (Well off the computer, and to bed between 2 and 2:30 (Lately slipping into the 3 ish time, NOT GOOD)but I do not get up with the birdies. I get up at 8:45. LOL No doubt to many the day is almost done. Grin

Hope Hermine's leg gets better. I remember we had a limp-along for quite some time in our barnyard - a goose after the cow stepped on her foot!
