I never mind getting tests. It’s good to learn you don’t have something. And if you do, it’s good to find it and make decisions. Are all the symptoms gone now ? I hope you are doing just fine.

TY! Went to hospital followup w/my PCP & she said all looked well, but agreed w/my thoughts—thought it would be good to get established w/a Neurologist for future followup.
(Hospital had suggested a 1 yr. followup because of the small 4 mm aneurism in my neck—that felt like too long to wait in my opinion. I’m a also going to check w/Best Doctots (a free benefit through my husband’s work. emoticon

I was out shopping w/my hubby on Thurs. when I realized my lips & tongue on the left side were numb like after the dentist & commented to Jon how weird it was.
Went to a different store & was still feeling numb. Got separated from Jon In the store & after reaching up to grab a box of hair dye, when I stepped back I felt ‘off-balance’. Continued shopping still experiencing the same symptoms. As a T2 diabetic I thought maybe my BG was low, but Kept looking on my Dexcom, to find I was over 111, but slowly dropping (not that alarming). Called my hubby to report my symptoms & He had me begin pushing the cart as we finished our shopping (We were basically finished anyway). Decided to check my BP b4 leaving the store: purse was 93 & BP 131/69.

Went home (a few blocks away) to see if eating a meal (rotisserie chicken & raspberries) & even after eating my BG continued dropping to just below 100. The numbness receded significantly but still felt off balance, so I called Advice nurse & told to go to ER immediately—possible TIA!

Arrived at hospital about 7 PM & was in ER until about midnight with many doctors/nurses/techs etc scrambling around doing bloodwork/tests/Scans etc. & they informed me they were going to keep me overnight for monitoring with an MRI & Echocardiogram scheduled in the AM.
Next day, after all the excitement was over doctor said I had no signs of stroke damage, but from my symptoms they think I most likely had a TIA, so they prescribed Plavix (sp?) along with my previously prescribed daily baby aspirin & released.
It was approx. 3 hrs from noticing the 1st symptom until arriving at ER, because I didn’t realize what was happening...
Home now and planning a quiet day. My lips feel chapped but no numbness & a slight headache, but overall not feeling like I just experienced a serious event less than 48 hrs ago!
