Hi, I'm Theresa. I've been on SparkCoach for a week now, but this is my first foray onto the team page.

I was happy to pay to get rid of the ads that were driving me insane, but SparkCoach has also re-ignited the determination to get healthier. I want to hike on the Appalachian Trail next year!

Hi, all. I just signed up for Premium. I see at least a couple of names I recognize from the chat. I'm Mary but most people call me Dizz.

Hello everyone,

I've used sparkpeople on and off for years and truly learned how to eat balanced through this site. I have no problem paying $30 for no ads and to support sparkpeople!

Signed up for premium mostly to check it out (and remove the ads LOL). I've been on and off of SP for years, this past year getting involved in some of the challenges has really helped me stay more focused overall (plus some extra personal life motivation).

Nearing 40 and getting involved in one of the most unforgiving sports out there (road racing motorcycles) has had me getting refocused on fitness and stopping with the excuses. "Desk job" and "being tired" don't make very excuses when you're pushing a bike to the limits.

I let myself go so far, that while I've come a LONG ways on the road back, I know I'm still not where I was before I gave into the excuses nearly 6 years ago....but getting there! My primary focus is on fitness (it's the thing I cannot allow myself to compromise on) - but I need to focus a little more on the food department again as I've been pretty lax about that the past few months!

Hi all. I joined a few days ago. Didn't know there was a team page. I feel that of all the times I have tried to lose weight, this time is going to be the biggest success. I'm finding wonderful, helpful tools on SP and my hubby and family have never been as supportive as they are this time.
Good luck to everyone!

Hello, everyone!

I'm Auna, and I live in the United States, in Portland, Oregon.

I joined Premium for the awesome benefits of it being ad-free and being able to use SparkCoach. And I love that what I gave could be helping other people lose weight and be healthier.

I've lost 15 lbs this year with diet and exercise! I have a ways to go, but I know if I don't quit, I'll get there to goal weight!

I am hoping that SparkCoach will help me to complete the 4-part SparkProgram, which I haven't been able to do before.

Good luck, everyone!

Hi, I am Adrienne. I've been a Sparker for over 5 years and on maintenance for 4. I decided to join the paid SparkPeople because $30 is nothing compared to what Spark has done for me. There is such a wealth of information here and tools that that really help. Unfortunately I have already learned most of what SparkCoach has to offer but most of it bears repeating and I love Sparkpoints. Come visit my SparkPage and make your SparkFriend. I'll be happy to return the favor and maybe we can support each other!

This is my 3rd day with Spark Coach and I'm very positive about it.
I do all the assignments that are applicable to me.
Is it possible to see previous days in spark coach?

I am ChaCha and I am an American Peace Corps Volunteer serving in Jamaica. Halfway there! I lost around 60lbs in 2010 and a few months into 2011 was hit by a car that changed my life. In the hospital every notation refers to an obese woman in her 40's. This still pisses me off. I had lost all that weight and they still considered me obese. I was almost to my goal weight when the collision happened and I struggle daily with those harsh doctor notations. I almost got back to that weight again but I struggle at the last 10lbs so much.

I'm Jeanine and I have been a member of SparkPeople for YEARS...sometimes on, sometimes off. Joined Premium because I have gotten so much good stuff out of Spark over the years, I thought I OWED them!

Struggling with mid-life weight (just turned 50) and just completed the 2nd day of SparkCoach. Loving the focus it gives me, and LOVE the visualizations. The bad thing is...I want to go through the steps each morning but for the next 5 days I will not be around internet! So I won't be able to continue the motivation. WAH!

I am taking a small notebook to hopefully keep tabs on myself so I can input everything when I make it back to civilization!

Hi Carol, emoticon
Did you say 'can't' ? no no no no nooooo!
Of COURSE you can bust this plateau!
But remember, if you're doing things right, then the plateau should just mean that your BODY is ADJUSTING to the new habits. I imagine this takes time!
Give yourself time to adapt, THEN see what else you can do to fine tune your plan.
Every body is different.
Here are the things that have recently started the ball rolling in a down ward trend for me.
Enough Fiber + enough Water + regular exercise. I also drink a capful of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water, once a day.
I'm on the fiber challenge. My first week I lost nothing, but felt nice and full. The second week, I began losing by fractions which equaled to 5 lb loss in 7 days.
Then I lost 3lb the next week.
So that's something you can try.
I have a great scientific spark friend who is ALWAYS studying how her body works, how it reacts to different conditions. Let's be more like her!
Don't give up or get discouraged, just look at things in a scientific way and see what you can try next!

Blessings!

Hi, I'm Carol and I just joined Spark Premium which gave me access to Spark Coach. I have been doing SP for about a year now and have lost about 67 pounds. I only have 6 more pounds to reach my first weight goal but have been having trouble with it. Seems I have reached a plateau which I can't bust. But I am motivated and determined. I know I can do it.

Hi,
Suzanne here-second timer. I turned 62 in June and retired. I live in Northern New Jersey with my DH. Rejoined Spark this week as well as Spark Premium. I need to lose 115 pounds. This time around I will take full advantage of all the Spark People site has to offer. Monday I started a slow (30 minute mile) treadmill walking program - three days a week with a few upper body Strength Training exercises thrown in as well.

Been on SparkPeople awhile. Just joined Premium yesterday - SparkCoach seems like just what I need to get me heading in the right direction again. The one time payment option was a great idea and reasonable to boot.

I cannot tell you how thrilled I am that Spark now has the premium option. I have been advocating for this option for a long time and would like to send my kudos to the SparkPeople staff. THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!! No more ads!!!!!!!!!!!! The $29.99 is sooooo worth it!

I have been a Sparker since 2007 and I may not use all of the features, Spark is such a huge part of my life. This amazing webiste has kept me centered when I start to stray off the path.

After having a "free" phone consult with a program that provides what sparkcoach does for only $500.00 a month and being asked to make a commitment for a year. I decided to join sparkcoach for a year to finally reach my weight loss and fitness goals.

Hi everyone. I've been on and off Sparkpeople for years... just back, again, after a long hiatus. I must must do something about my weight and physical health, so here I am (finally) with SparkCoach (yay!).

I live in Europe (left my native NYC 30 years ago exactly!), which has been a blessing and has brought on a series of problems (isolation, lack of friends and family and associated problems), so I'm glad to meet you all here so we can all cheer each other on.

Hi, I'm on day 4 and just changing habits gradually right now. I'm 47 with a 13-year old daughter and getting ready for my wedding (second marriage) in August. I hope to stick to good habits for the long term and rebuild a running base.

Started this program today. I'm hoping that it'll make a difference in my mindset as things, quite frankly, can't get much worse.

I guess I should also say, My name is Penny. I'm a school bus driving wife and mother of 3. I have two sons who are 17 and 19 and a daughter who is 4. They keep me very busy, BUT in my spare time, I'm also working as a clinic instructor at the Running Room for half marathon runners. Lately, I've taken up cycling so that I can do a 3 day ride called Tour for Kids.

Nutrition will be key and, for the past few months, it's been severely lacking.

I'm Dixie
Day 1 on SparkCoach
About a month on Sparkpeople, and so far so good. Joined 5/16/16

Day 1-10: very motivated and everything going really good.
Day 11-13: Feel off the wagon and binge ate for 3 days. I had 0 control over myself.
Day 14-17: Took a while to slowly get myself back under control.
Focussed on exercise + nutrition log.

6/1 - Real comeback. Weighed in and had lost 10 lbs in spite of binge eating.
New motivation, new self control and new belief in myself.
I feel that I can do it ! That makes 10 days of real self confidence.

I do not want to weigh-in every week. Maybe on the 1st and 16th of every month.
No end goal either. Too far to go. Can not even fathom how long it will take IF I make it to where I would be if miracles come through and pigs fly.

Slow mini-goals of 25 lbs at a time. Starting weight was 250 lbs so 25lbs is 10%.

emoticon

Dixie

5/13/16 -- newly arrived on SparkPeople
7/01/16 -- 25 lbs lost
9/26/16 -- 50+ lbs lost

1/1/2017 - returned to SP after 3 months break; I maintained my weight-loss.
Next goal: get below 200 lbs.

Jan.'17 - A&I team challenge - team 'super skiers'

Hi I'm new here, both to SP and to SC. After reviewing it I'm thinking I'm going to subscribe for a year because I think it might help me with keeping on track. So often I've tried to do this on my own and after a while I just fizzle out and lose motivation, I start sneaking in something here and there or portions start growing. This time feels different, though, and has to be a permanent change.

Hey y'all!! I've been a spark people member off and on for a while and have even tried spark coach before but after surviving breast cancer and then diagnosed with type 2 diabetes over the last two years I've taken my health a bit more seriously. I'm fixin to experience an empty nest once my one and only graduates high school in June. We've done a great job with her and I'm so very proud of her but if I want to be here when she graduates college, gets married, and has her own children then I have to take care of myself so that's why I'm here. Wish me luck!!

Hello everyone,

My name is Tracy, I am new to SparkPeople. I have struggled with my weight all of my adult life and I am a diabetic. I have 120 pounds to shredded.

Last December, I started a journey with Positive Changes which is Hypnosis/Hypnotherapy. Part of this process was for me to find an exercise route that I could stick too. I started CIZE last Monday after a very very long bout of no exercise. I am loving Cize! I decided to give myself a 30-day challenge starting today. I will do exercise for 30 minutes a day and continue to eat a health diet for the next 30-day.

My first goal get a better control on my blood sugars and lose 15-20 pounds weight. My midterm goal is to drop 60 pounds before October 8 2016. My long term goal to get off of insulin shots and to drop the remaining 60 pounds by April 5, 2016. I will drop this weight and regain control over my health.

Ahoy Everyone! My name is Jennifer, and I am a life long yo-yo dieter, band wagon exerciser, and former get skinny fast subscriber. I have been on and off spark since I was a teenager many years ago. However, I never took my health and life seriously. Lately my body has been giving me some warning signs, and I need to start paying attention.

Hello! My name is Paty, and I just finished my first week on Spark! I need to lose 97 pounds to be in the healthy range. I have tried many diets and no matter what I do, I can't seem to lose more than 35 pounds. I know that must be my plateau point, so I am hopeful that with the help and support of my spark friends I will be able to break thru that plateau this time and reach my goal! emoticon

Wanda you're already taking positive steps by joining. How are you doing today? I have anxiety too and journaling what I am upset about sometimes helps me, I then go with worst to best outcome, realizing I can handle any. You got this, keep up the momentum.

Hi al, I'm a returnee who should have never left. My goal is to lose 60-75 pounds depending on body composition , but now I've got several spinal issues which made me depressed...eating more...and changed what exercises I was allowed to do. But, there's always something and I figure I can control my calories and macronutrients, even if I can't control life.

I'm a mom of three humans and we have two dogs and five cats. I stopped working after over 20 years as a medical transcriptionist and now am a SAHM.

Hi, I'm Wanda, I also need motivation other then feeding my anxiety and pain. Grew up "eat you'll feel better" Now I'm at the age it's really hard to loose. I've been a yo yo weight for ever. My excuses have been, Can't afford to join a gym, no place to store a bike, and pain levels in so many parts of my body- I'm considered disabled. In the past every time a had a big weight loss I would have some type of surgery and then gain what I lost plus more. Example: lost 40- had a hysterectomy, lost 60 had back surgery, lost 90 had lumpectomy, lost 50 had knee replacement. Guess all the young years of skiing (water & snow), bowling, and golfing my body says no more. I would love to get my anxiety so much more under control other then with meds. I am up to 8 different meds not counting vitamin supplimentgs! ugh! Now I'm up to needing to loose 100 lbs. emoticon

Hello everyone. I am not new to weight loss, or to Spark People. However, I am new to regaining weight and having to lose it again. I am ready to take charge of my life, in every area. It is time for change, and I want to take the steps to become a success.

Hello everyone, I am JJ and I am new to the idea of actually losing weight and using spark people to do it. I have 120 lbs to loose to be in the healthy BMI range but want to lose 135 or fit into a size 12. My dad used spark people and enjoyed it but I need a little extra help to understand what being healthy is, picking the right work outs and the right food.
