It's the same with our Shi Tzu, Poochie and daughters, Miniature Schnauzer Scooter. Scooter hates all dogs and was once labeled "dog aggressive" by the vet but he and Poochie are pals. They work as a team. When one starts to notify us that he want out-they other immediately chimes in.

I love all of those stories about the bond between dogs....thanks!
The funny thing is that inside the house Chloe is the dominant dog. When they get chew bones Chloe always takes both bones and lies on one while chewing the other. She is a little smaller (75lbs) than Molson (106lbs) and after a while she gives Molson one bone which he 'softens up' then she takes it back for an easier chew.
They also share a food dish and Molson will religiously eat half the bowl and walk away while Chloe will eat the whole thing and not give it a second chance. It usually takes two meals for Molson to complain and give her a bark.
Outside is another story and Molson is the great protector.
Anyway, I'm off to do my 7km run and will walk the dogs for my cool down.
Cheers
Holly

That is so cute! I love dog antics.

My younger dog Casey loves to go outside while my older dog, Star, only goes out to, well, go most of the time. When we potty trained Casey we would give her a small treat for being successful. Well, that turned in to having a treat whenever she came back inside and if one gets one, well, the other has to have one too.

So now when Casey goes out, Star will whimper for us to let Casey in because she knows they'll both get a treat.

I just recently got another dog, both my girls are Cane Corso Italian Mastiffs. Diamond is 5 and Daisy is just a little over three months. I got Daisy when she was eight weeks and Diamond really wasn't taking too well to her after all Diamond has been the only child for 5 years and very spoiled. Anyways just a couple of weeks ago I had to babysit a friend of mines year old boxer for a few hours (3 dogs was a handful) and for some reason the boxer kept pushing Daisy around and was just playing a little too rough with her. Diamond let it go on for a few minutes then all of a sudden the boxer was going at Daisy again and before you knew it Diamond jump right smack in the middle of the boxer and Daisy; her fur was sticking up and Diamond just stood almost nose to nose with this other dog growling at her. Needless to say the boxer didn't bother Daisy the rest of the night, but ever since then it seems like its brought Diamond and Daisy closer and Diamond is starting to come around with the adjustment of having a sibling.

Abbey will do those types of things with Lola also. Lola is extremely friendly, but when the neighbors overly friendly dog comes over to Lola, Abbey will go up to him and give him a nip as to say, I'm watching you and don't hurt my sister. It's funny cuz Lola is over twice the size of Abbey.

Alice our Cocker/Lab mix was a year old when we brought Henley home. Henley was having a day of "can't keep myself out of trouble", so when I said "Henley" one to many times, Alice grabbed a toy and ran to Henley with it. She got him to play, and out of trouble hehe. Alice will also help my Hubby pull up weeds in the back yard. Then she lays the weed by him lol

Sounds like Molson is the "Peace Maker." Baxter, my beagle, tries to do that with my mini and standard dachshunds.

Hello Everyone,
I hope everyone is well. We just got home from walking the dogs after supper. My chow...Molson, has this funny thing that he does to my rottie/lab, Chloe when we see other dogs. When they go towards the other dog if the female, Chloe is ahead of Molson and starts barking he gets really upset and he grabs onto her leash with his teeth and pulls her away from the other dog. Does anyone else, with multiple dogs, experience this sort of behaviour or is it just that big "M" is a macho man?
Cheers
H.
