I have a pair that my husband bought me for Christmas a few years ago. I only ever really wore them around the house and not for exercising. I haven't had any knee or ankle issues though. I do like them, but you really do have to get use to them.

I had a pair that I wore everywhere. They were great at first. After about 6 months I started having problems with my knees and hips. My doctor suggested I stop wearing them. I have been fine every since. So if you start to have pain in your hips or knees stop wearing them to see if the shoes are causing the problem.

I have a 30% off coupon for them if you want it. Do you have a PO Box?

I purchased from foot solutions one of the original shape up brand shoes 3 years ago. They lasted me 2 years. I purchased a pair of skeechers last year and they are still in awesome shape. They take some getting used to. The best use for them is just plain walking. You could not wear them to do aerobics or bike riding. The shoe is very supportive. I wear them to work and I walk & stand all day. I don't buy the claim that they will tone your muscles or help you lose weight. But if you are going for a supportive walking shoe they are great. Good luck with your shoe purchase. A good shoe is so important for your health!

Thanks for the feedback.
The reviews I've read today say they're great in the beginning, but people have developed injuries down the line (knee & ankle). Someone even hurt themselves at the gym doing squats. A lot of these people wore them for hours every day and a few only to exercise. I guess I'll go try on a pair before I fork over the money.

Dad seems happy with his, but haven't worn them all winter because of weather.

I have a pair of the Avia brand I found for 25% of the original price (I will not pay $120 for shoes!). I am a known klutz, but haven't had any problems with them. They seem to have added arch support for me, which makes them super-comfortable.

Doing my best...one day at a time.

I could wear them everyone they are that comfortable.
My sister on the other hand, said she "falls off" hers and have twisted her ankle....???

I got a pair for my birthday in March. They kind of make it feel like you're walking on sand. Took a little while to figure out my balance, but other than that, easy to adjust to. I had to build up a little bit a time to wearing them for a full workout. Finally got up to a half hour walk with them this last weekend and now have a nickel-size broken blister on the heel of my foot, so will have to put them aside for awhile. Definitely feel the difference in my leg muscles the day after a walk!!

I'm thinking about buying a pair of Shape-ups after my father raved about how much he loves his. After reading some online reviews, I'm not sure anymore. Does anyone own a pair? How are they working out for you?
