I went to club this week and decided to share my Consultant's words again as a REMINDER to us all. She was concerned that weight loss in our group had slowed a little and she was worried some of us were 'taking the scenic route again!', making excuses and delaying it!

She told us to remember 'It was your choice to come to club and follow this plan!'
So don't let yourself down.

Summer is coming so summer syn values

Icecream (99 and flake) 13 syns
Candy floss 3 syns
Toffee apple 10 syns
Hot dog with onions and sauce 21 syns
Do-nut between 7 and 14 syns

If we have that day out we need to think carefully and plan well, take syn free foods!
Plan ahead of times if you can! Include lots of speed and syn free foods.

Plan for the week and remember you could start at 70 syns and count down but remember if we have a special event we can use our flexible syns - plan how many you are going to use and stick to it!

Be aware of our trigger times and plan for them with a plate of prepared speed foods.

The reminders REALLY helped me! emoticon emoticon emoticon

You're doing really well. It's important to go at our own pace...It took me a while to get to target too. Then the work begins....maintaining!

That's incredible, I started in January. I'd been considering it for a while before that since friends and family had previously joined but didn't commit until this year. I've lost 1 stone so far it has been long and arduous but I'm getting there slowly.

I agree...and it reminds us that going to to basics is often the best way to go.

I had that conversation with a sw friend who is struggling to get back to target range. I said we added to many things in...when we started this journey it was so simple...we're talking 2013.

My consultant last Tuesday gave us some ideas based on text message questions she had received so her are her answers and maybe reminders ...... emoticon

It's still FREE FOOD FEBRUARY so lots of FREE FOOD needed.

Q Why do we have to have 1/3 plate full of Speed foods at every meal?

A To satisfy our appetite and to fill us up! That is why SW changed from Red and Green
days as people kept forgetting to have the speed foods at every meal.
It also meant that there was less room for other foods on the plate too if there is more
speed food there.
5 - 7 Speed foods each day

Q If I don't eat Speed foods would I still lose weight?

A Yes probably if you don't eat too many Syns but not as fast.


Q. Do snacks between meals count as Syns?

A. Not if its Speed foods, you can keep snacking on Speed foods at any time.

Q. Tell me more about SP days please

A. Based on Speed and Protein Foods (very similar to the old Red days)
1 A and 2 Bs each day, no rice, potatoes and pasta. No Quark or Yogurts too.

Q How many SP days can I do in a week?

A It takes planning but you can do as many as you like. Some people find it helps them
lose more weight.

Q I am always Hungry, what should I do?

A. Eat more Carbohydrates - rice, pasta and potatoes, On the SW eating plan you should
Never be hungry!
