Happy Friday!! Bonus is that its the big Apple Blossom weekend (annual festival) so we get to close at 2:30 today. I won't be staying to watch the classic car parade, but I will enjoy my extra time off.

Dad is heading to Everett today to get a 2nd key made for his car. It only came with one and a new one has to be cut and programmed at a dealership. Closet one for Mazda is about 180 miles away. So he's decided (after much coaxing) to spend the night over there so he isn't on the road for 6 hours today. So Jack (dog) and I will be on our own tonight.

I do need to come down for the gym tomorrow and run a couple of errands, but other then that I will be relaxing at home.

I hope everyone has a good weekend. Have fun, stay safe, love yourself! emoticon emoticon

Thanks, Cindy.

Vicki, this is what my BLC captain had to say about FatSecret -
SusanE - the problem with FatSecret is that we can't have international folks all on one team. So we'd need a U.S. BLC site and a Canadian BLC site, etc. So we couldn't communicate with Elaine or Susan, etc.

Good morning, Roomies.

Susan, first, it is awesome you are getting back on your Plan. Good for you! I'm trying to get back to mine as well so I can shed my last 10#. I look forward to learning more about the platform that BLC will use. Yes, I have joined this team and am on the waiting list for the next challenge. They have an upcoming zoom meeting to discuss possible platforms, but unfortunately I can't attend because I will be at my grandson's recital. I took a look at FatSecret briefly, but did not join. It seems to have a lot of features that could make it a viable option, and it is a secure site. The 5% Challenge teams are exploring its potential for their team use.

Soldiering on. Busy day ahead with client audit preparation. I have a few plans for the weekend. Have two recitals and a visit with MIL at assisted living. She'll be 99 in September, and is now in memory care. This will be our first visit out side and I am excited at the thought of taking her outside for a stroll in her wheelchair for an hour. It will be her first fresh air since the pandemic started.

It's a great day for a great day! emoticon

It sounds like BLC will most likely use MyFitnessPal, so Iíd already be there. It seems that would make it easy. I should know in a few days.

Some of the other teams are using My Fitness Pal. It has groups and trackers so it would be similar. Just a thought.

I can. It requires everyone to have a google email account.

I am looking around to see if there are other options. Let me do that research and I will let you know if I find anything that works a bit better. We have some time still.

I would also need to know if everyone has a gmail account or if they are willing to set one up for this purpose.

Fortunately this is a small group so it will be easy to keep in touch. I'm not sure what Google group is. Would you want to set that up for us?

Susan tell them to look into FatSecret. It seems to be similar to SP.

I am not interested in BLC (been on it before) but definitely want to stay in touch with everyone here.

I set up a Google group for my other team. It is basically a team email. We start a new thread every morning. It seems to work fine for staying in contact, but we are looking at Fat Secret as another option.

I am back on my BLE diet, cutting out sugar and flour. I think I went through withdrawals the last two days, felt terrible and had a major headache. So far feeling better today, and know that soon I will get that feeling of everything feeling better and clearer.

The BLC team team is hard at work on an alternative to SP. They feel confident they will be successful in finding something so we can continue in a similar fashion to what we do now. Vicki had expressed an interest in joining prior to the SP announcement. Iím wondering if anyone else might like to do the same. I can explain BLC in more detail if anyone would like that.

Hi Roomies. I'm holding on and waiting to see how things come along. I think this was a heads up so people didn't feel blindsided when the changes came. I think that as popular this site is with so many of us, they will try to keep a lot of the things that we enjoy. Hopefully we will be able to stay in some sort of team/groups.

I'm working on not snacking and spending my day more productively. Off to do just that. Have a great day.

Good morning, teamies! Sorry....I didn't get to posting my Monday Musings. I will make sure I do that next week! I took yesterday to re-focus and center myself and find my routine again. I can't change what is. I will spend my time between now and 8/17 enjoying Spark and connecting with you.

I had a few hours with the my Grand girls in the afternoon at the park. Hearing their laughter and seeing them enjoy life with enthusiasm lifts my spirits. Children are so good at that. They really live life in the present; they remind us, if not insist, that we do that too. emoticon

My walk outside yesterday morning was a hot, humid one. Still I took time to enjoy all of the new plantings and lovely yard work of my neighbors. Everything is so colorful.

Friends, wishing you moments of joy and contentment today. emoticon

Hi, Roomies. I am so sad, too, about Spark People shutting down. I wrote Spark corporate and sent emails to PR & Editorial & Support to propose they offer an option for a paid community type subscription and keep spark as it is. I doubt I will hear back from any of them. The corporate site states that there are 17 million users using the site each day. Last count, there were less than 300 comments at the bottom of the spark article protesting this decision. Even if there were a million comments, would they be moved to take a different approach?

I am interested in staying in touch with all of you. Though I am not a regular poster, I do read through your threads every week, and care about everyone. I do have a gmail account and that will work for me, but I am not a facebook member (boycotted their platform long ago).

Carol....I am thinking of you and wishing you well.

Tracy...so glad you are feeling better.

I know it's Monday. I promise I will get to posting Monday Musings later. It has been an upsetting day for me, because of the shutdown news. Then when the site was not working early in the day, and I could reach any sparkfriends, it felt like 8/17 already.

Friends be well. We must soldier on. emoticon

Congrats on the latest addition WG.

Evyne went back to daycare today as far as I know. Hopefully the staff spent the weekend cleaning and sanitizing since so many kids had the virus last week. I did my best to lessen the exposure to myself and the other kids when she was here last week. She ended up not coming over yesterday.

The Google groups seem to be pretty straight forward. We just need to set it up and invite whomever we want. And from there we should be able to chat. I will be setting up for my other team in the next week or so, so I can give some feedback once it is done. I would miss everyone if we were not able to find a way to stay in contact.

If everyone is on FB we could set up a private group there as well.

Hi Roomies. It certainly has been a news filled weekend. It is certainly surprising to see Spark take this step. It has been doing less on the site for several months.

I like the idea of a Google team. I don't know exactly how that works. I know FB also works so either would be fine. It might be some tweaking of things, but it is nice to have the team here.

Susan, working in the dark of night sounds easier. I'm glad you got a good amount of work done in the cool. I love the idea of hanging pictures with a template of paper first on the walls to see how it works, but you have a great mind.

Tracy, glad your mouth is feeling better. Get back on track. I lose weight when I have dental work done. It hurts to eat so I don't.

Carol, take care of you. It is hard to have an illness that isn't understood well by others. Hopefully you will get some answers and help with your illness. Orphan illnesses aren't fun. Not a lot of support. I'm sure as you feel better (thinking positively) you will be able to do more with your family and enjoy life more.

Cindy, glad DGD has turned the corner. Hopefully she didn't share, but I'm sure you are a champ with infection control techniques.

The kids came for dinner for the first time in over a year. It was great to have everyone here. The cousins missed each other and the kids missed each other. They visited and laughed and played for hours. The youngest DGS is almost a stranger as they didn't come by often. He was warming up and sitting next to me playing with the dog. It was good to see them all in once place. DD#2 announced she is expecting in November. It will be about 6 weeks after DIL has her baby. I love it when the cousins can have playmates.

Have a great day. I'm off to finish cleaning up from dinner.

emoticon Lady Carol!

I'm super upset about SP shutting down. I (all of us really) have years of data that I'm guessing will just vanish! And then to lose our Canadian teammates is a bunch or crap.
emoticon Not happy at all.

My mouth seems to be healed up now from my extraction last week. But I'm still being super cautious. I'm looking forward to eating more on plan as I can get back to eating real foods.

I will pop back by later today. Have a good morning!

Hugs Lady Carol. Taking care of yourself is a priority. May the new plan help.

Susan, WG, Lady Carol, Tracy and Vicki - I am on another small team and we are going to set up a private Google group so we can stay in touch. If everyone is on or willing to set up a gmail account, we can do the same with those of us here on the Mindful Mansion.

I am posting my Monday Musings, but let me know if you want to continue with this. We can just talk about what we are doing, and plan for the end of the site.

How did your week go? It's time to look at what's working and what's not. This is for YOU alone to gauge your progress and to create and modify your Intentions/Goals, accordingly.

On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being FANTABULOUS, how did you do in meeting your Intentions for the week? 9

Give yourself a pat on the back. What's working? What were your successes? had tasty, healthy meals. Got a lot done around the house.

What's NOT working? What were your struggles? I just had a couple of missteps, but so much better than I have been doing.

Did you exercise this week? Lots of walks, lots of heavy lifting and cleaning.

Scale or measured inches UP or DOWN? Down big.

What did you for YOU? Played Scrabble and cards. Lots of talks with my family. Took a couple of long, hot baths.

A new week means another chance to get it right!
What are your INTENTIONS for this coming week?
- Cut back on eating.
- Get good sleep.
- More household work accomplished. Almost getting everything back in place. My son and granddaughter will be here for 3 weeks starting Saturday.

Good morning, Susan let me know of the sad and disappointing news about SP closing down its doors. I haven't been online because I'm dealing with my myositis diagnosis and treatment at Johns Hopkins. I've been going through tests and feel like a pin cushion....lol. Last Thursday, I finally saw a doctor who knew about myositis. My GP hasn't had a case before. The Rheum has only had 1 other patient. It felt wonderful to talk with her and come up with a plan of action. She put me on an additional medication, methotrexate, that I'm adjusting to. I'm trying to not go on prednisone.

My apologies for being absent, but I have needed to be very focused on finding my way to feeling better. Evidently, myositis is rare and I'm one in a million! I have thought of each of you every day. Please know that. What a blessing SP has been to me. The Mindful Mansion has been a special place.

Just wanted you to know that I am here in heart as we experience our final days of SP. Take care and I send special blessings your way.

Love,
Carol

Iím not sure what the SparkAmerica is going to be like, but it will be free. I guess we just have to wait and see.

ETA - just got this from my BLC captain :
SusanE - it's ONLY connected to companies. It's free now but in the future your company will need to buy this as a benefit for the employees. No threads, no teams, just one central challenge that is set up by robots. The coaching is a "virtual assistant". No retirees, no students, no unemployed, no folks who are physically located anywhere other than the U.S. It's like a less good version of Noom and is designed to work with companies/health care systems. Totally about making money and not doing anything else.

This was linked to another team I am on. Not exactly sure what it will mean, but wanted to make everyone aware of it.

Yes it is. And to add insult to everything else she was dealing with they put her through a Covid test (which was negative).

Just talked with my DIL and Evyne seems to have turned a corner finally and is feeling better. Hoping it sticks this time.

So glad you got a lot accomplished Susan.

WG hope you had a good day today.

I tried to relax and give my foot a rest, but of course that did not happen. On a positive note it has been a very productive day.

Cindy - Hope your GD feels better today.

WG - I couldnít sleep last night, so I spent from midnight to 5 am working on bringing in more things. It was nice because it was so cool. George helped for a couple of hours until his back started hurting. Iím hoping to bring all our books in and get them on the bookshelves today. Thatís a big job. We also want to hang our paintings. The painters were supposed to paint over any nails we left, but instead they pulled most of them and plugged the holes, then painted. Itís going to be a lot of work to get everything back up again. We have over 20 paintings and I donít know how many family pictures. emoticon We will do a better job of hanging them this time, so itís probably better they did that.

Susan so happy that it is done and that you like it. Good luck getting everything put back and enjoy the decluttering and the walk down memory lane that I am sure you will have.

WG stay cool.

I am nurse for my daughter and caregiver for my GD (who has a nasty virus) today. So not getting a whole lot done.

Susan, you will really enjoy your home when all is put back together, but no rush. Keep puttering at it and as you need it. I'm sure you will get the cars back inside the garage soon.

Hot here. Broke records yesterday and may reach 100 today. Have grands. The evaporative cooler wasn't hooked up when DS went out of town. Hopefully they will be OK until the weekend when he returns.

Have a great day.

MONDAY MUSINGS

How did your week go? It's time to look at what's working and what's not. This is for YOU alone to gauge your progress and to create and modify your Intentions/Goals, accordingly.

On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being FANTABULOUS, how did you do in meeting your Intentions for the week? 6

Give yourself a pat on the back. What's working? What were your successes? I increased my water intake, I had really slacked off

What's NOT working? What were your struggles? Evening snacking - after I've reached my plan limits emoticon

Did you exercise this week? emoticon Yes! I made it to the gym Saturday. Pushed my knee too far and was limited for 2 days after, but recovered now.

Scale or measured inches UP or DOWN? Weigh in tomorrow - probably up as I ate like a pig last week

Were you kind to yourself this week? What did you do for YOU? I finished my puzzle. And I rejoined WW - hoping it helps me stay on track better than what I'm doing

A new week means another chance to get it right!
What are your INTENTIONS for this coming week?
- drink lots of water
- go to bed at decent time

I haven't read any posts...today is busy with the Mon-Tue combo. I'm out tomorrow as I have a tooth extraction in the morning. I'm super anxious. Technically he should have referred me to oral surgeon since the tooth broke at the gum line. But I'm thankful he didn't (at least not yet) as I can payments to him. So I'm praying that with the happy gas and my headphones that I will get through it. I'm thinking it will look like a crime scene before he's done. I do have the gum disease, so its always a hot mess on a good day.

We are hitting 100* this week. UGH - grateful for a/c . I can't do that kind of heat even with low humidity, its just too much. But I finished my puzzle last night!

I hope everyone has a great day! emoticon

Give yourself a pat on the back. What's working? What were your successes? Had great veggies and fruits. Made sure to get protein regularly but was meatless all week. Not always first choice, but I usually feel better when I decrease meats.

What's NOT working? What were your struggles? Boredom eating, emotional eating

Did you exercise this week? Increased steps and movement.

Scale or measured inches UP or DOWN? Down a bit

What did you for YOU? Read a book, did some genealogy, planned my next quilt, visited with family

A new week means another chance to get it right!
What are your INTENTIONS for this coming week?
Keep eating more freggies
keep increasing activity and movement
clean something in each room each day.
use up some of my fabric

Deep cleaning and decluttering are the best - when they are done!! Hate it beforehand. Good luck on going through everything.

The party was fun. Weather was perfect. The tables worked great and the kids loved having all the space in the driveway to play and run. They could also go out into the back yard and we adults did not have to move to see them.

We have been spending several hours each day getting things into the garage so the painters can come in. We will do a few more hours tomorrow and should be ready on Tuesday. Our 3 car garage is nearly full. Also tomorrow I plan to do some cleaning of remaining shelves. This is the biggest cleaning we have ever done, and we are all feeling it. It will be so nice to have everything clean and moved back in, starting Thursday.

Cindy - Yes, our hope is to find more things to get rid of. Shouldnít be hard at all. We have 40 years of accumulation to get through. Hope the party goes/went well.

WG - Sorry to hear the grandkids were sick. Hope they feel better today.

Tracy - We often have coyotes down here, but the bears only come occasionally. I think heís mloved on from our street. I am now reading the at heís a couple of blocks away.

Hi Roomies. I'm enjoying a quiet minute. It is fun to have grands but they are sick today. One has thrown up a few times and is wiped out. The other ate later than usual. I'm sure he is just waiting to lose his cookies.

Cindy, your dinner sounds great. It is always more about the people than the food and good family and friends make it worth it. I'm sure you will enjoy your new patio and the extra space.

I'm not sure how much I'll have the grands who come after school. It depends upon how the parents work schedule works out. In November I'll get their new baby 2-3 days a week. It isn't a burden at all although I am home a bit more than I might be otherwise. I just have to adjust my outings to fit into the schedule. I know DS is probably going back to the office 4 days a week and his wife works 4 days a week. DS will work remotely another day and that is hard with all the kids. The kids enjoy being here and it is fun. They don't understand that they will have to do the outdoor time anyway and they will need to read every day. It is good for them to do that. It was super hard when my kids were home and I tried to do it. I usually gave up by mid July and let them run wild.

Susan, Amelia would love some stories about Yellowstone. It is so beautiful and wild. It is always fun to go and see all that there is to see. There are probably some great books for kids. I know they have a lot of them in the gift shops. I love walking to the hot pots. There are several in walking distance from Old Faithful.

Tracy, I loved Scholastic Books. I got them when I was a child and when my children brought a flyer home, I often bought books from them as well. A couple of my kids were in an accelerated class and they had to read Newberry books every term. I tried to get a variety of books for them to read. I bought Jurassic Park off the order form and read the book. I tried to get my boys to read it and they just walked away until I told them Spielberg was making a movie from the book. They grabbed it out of my hands and all read it in the next couple of weeks. It is hard but I try to read as often as I can. It really helps me stay grounded as well as see another part of life that is far from my own.

Love your Dad's car. I'm sure he will enjoy it. Sounds like the dealership was a bit shady but he has the car and all is well.

It's late. After the boys went home, I got groceries and flowers for the cemetery. It is fun for the kids. I started with enough flowers for my dad's grave and maybe my grandparents. I bought more and more each year as I have a lot of ancestors there. I also have an aunt and uncle buried there as well as my parents, brother, step father. My sister is still bitter about my stepfather. He wasn't a nice man. I still put flowers on his grave. He deserves to be treated better than she does.

Off to get the activity made up so the grands can have a fun treasure hunt.

Have a great day.

The dealership was just being difficult. Too bad. So glad he found what he wanted and is happy with it. Looks cute!

Yeah Susan. Good opportunity to purge some more. I think you will be happy with the color. Plus you can always spruce it up with stuff on the walls.

The party is a potluck. So we are mostly having bbq foods. I am making some salads (need to figure out which ones) and I have watermelon. I know that there will be potato salad, chips, burgers, hot dogs and I think salmon burgers. Still waiting to hear from a couple of people as to what they are bringing. No matter what we will have plenty of food. And we are having cake for dessert.

Didn't realize I hadn't checked in since Monday. Works been busy.

Must be the week for wildlife coming to neighborhoods. We have had a black bear in town for a few days. Haven't had one this far in town. And then a mountain lion was running in a neighborhood in the small town where my sister lives (about 45 min away) and actually jumped through a guy's screen door and was in his house! They were able to dart the cat and relocate it.

Dad got his car. It's really cute and drives great. He had a big hassle getting it though. Took hours longer than it should have. He went pre-approved too but they gave him some bs story about not working with that credit union (even tho they had a branch in that city), and dad had frozen his credit to avoid identity theft and only released the freeze on the one company and they used the other 2 so he needed my help with passwords and stuff to get them unfrozen. Needless to say he was ticked about all that. But he is super happy with his car. Its a 2013 (?) Mazda 3 touring model. Took a quick pic of it this morning - ignore all reflections on the car as they make it look beat up...lol

Today really feels like Friday! bummer. I didn't make it to the gym this week. Poor sleep didn't lead being able to function well in the mornings. I am thinking to come back down Saturday and go. Better than nothing at this point.

How exciting new paint! That always makes home cozier. I will have to read up more, I see there is a party but don't know for who. I loved reading books when I was young. I remember in grade school we would get a pamphlet where we could order books of our choice and mom would let me pick out a few. Man things were so much simpler back then!

Hope everyone has a good day!

Today will be mostly about moving some things into the garage. Our interior is being painted, starting on Tuesday. They will move the furniture (good thing!). I just need to empty bookshelves and closets today. Monday night we will take down all of our art. I'm excited about the paint. I think we found the perfect colors, just hoping it turns out the way we envision it.

Cindy - The party sounds like fun. Glad you got your tables in. What are you serving for the party?

WG - Amelia loves books and is starting to read. She will be here in about 2 weeks. I'm excited to see her and see how her reading is progressing. Maybe I should get her a book about Yellowstone. We are headed there on June 14.

Vicki - Hope your visit with the grandchildren is going well.

Tracy - Have you been able to make it to the gym? I am rejoining mine on June 1, when I am on Medicare and get it for free. I probably won't get there often in June with my son and Amelia being here most of the month, but come July I want to be a regular again.

Will you have the grands most of the summer WG? Hope the kids take to reading. Some do and some don't. I have always wondered if listening to the audio version while reading along would be of any help to those that don't like to read.

Have had a couple of days without rain. Working on getting the grass cut today because we are expecting some pretty nasty storms tomorrow. Then we should be good through the weekend. Really looking forward to having everyone over. Having good entertaining space is going to make life so much nicer for me.

Hi Roomies. I'm enjoying a quiet day so far. Grands due here in an hour or so. Last full week before school is out. I'll miss the remote Fridays next year, but it will be better for the kids to get a full week of learning. Yesterday, I went looking through my old books for some for the Dinosaur to read. He and Princess Purple are not reading at grade level although both are bright kiddos. I think they just don't read enough. As a "book person" I collected a lot of books for the kids to read when they were young and all of my kids were and are readers. Now I will share with the next generation.

Tracy, hope your dad found a good car to help him. Cars are a touchy thing this year with all the manufacturing and other problems. My sister said she could buy a new car for less than a used one this year. She was pretty picky about the car she wanted.

Susan, glad the package arrived safely. It is scary having the bear at all. They usually avoid people. I'm sure it is the drought that is driving them down. It is sad not to be able to feed the birds.

Vicki, congrats on a new grand and that things went well. It is very fun to cuddle the new born little ones. I hope your life gets less busy so you can enjoy that baby and the other grands more. I understand about not being able to stick to plan when time constraints change.

Cindy, hope the weather improves so you can have your outside party over the weekend.

I'm off to have lunch and prepare for the grands to arrive. Have a great day.

Vicki - emoticon So happy to hear baby Vincent and your DIL are home and doing well.

Cindy - No more bear activity at our house in the last 2 days. I saw on our neighborhood watch site that people were posting pictures of it. We have our yard and trash locked up now, so I don't expect to see more signs in our yard. They said he is getting into trash and eating birdseed. My sister-in-law loves to put out seed and other goodies for the birds.

Tracy I hope Dad found the car he wanted.

Susan so glad the package arrived. Any more bear sightings?

WG we got all but a very small patch at the bottom of the yard mowed. Unfortunately we are expecting storms again on Thursday. Hoping they don't materialize because we need to mow again on Friday/Saturday to get ready for the party on Sunday.

Vicki congrats on Vincent's arrival. Hope you are able to get the rest of your work completed. And still get to enjoy the grands.

Good morning, Roomies! Daughter in law went into labor this past Wednesday night. I left to go stay at son's home to care for Alexandra through Friday. Daughter in law had Baby Vincent on Thursday. She was 2 weeks early. Both Mom and Baby are doing great! On Friday, the hospital sent them both home. No longer are the days when a mom could get some rest in the hospital for a few days before resuming her busy role as mom and wife. In fact, even while at hospital, both parents stay and almost completely care for the newborn. Sure is a different experience from when I delivered my kids.

I love this stage of baby, when they just cuddle in your arms sleeping. It won't be long and Vince will be on the move!

My Plan has been put on back burner now until I get the financial records over to the auditors for my two nonprofits. I'm not getting enough rest, and have little time, but I still seem to find time to snack for some relief.....that's a very bad habit of mine. I'll deal with myself soon, but am cutting myself some slack at the moment.

I will have to catch up on the threads next week....but meanwhile, I hope all is going well for everyone.

Give yourself a pat on the back. What's working? What were your successes? Many healthy meals

What's NOT working? What were your struggles? With lots of client work right now, I am not focused on no snacking and getting out for my daily walks.

Did you exercise this week? I made myself get out for a week a couple of times over this past week. On Thurs and Fri, I was really on the move....granddaughter is very active!

Scale or measured inches UP or DOWN? surprisingly, I dropped a half pound

Were you kind to yourself this week? What did you do for YOU? Got a couple of good night's of sleep over at son's house, simply because I had no technology with me, and was caring for granddaughter.

A new week means another chance to get it right!
What are your INTENTIONS for this coming week?
- Survive my busy client week and get 1 client's books over to audit team by Friday, and the second set over next week
-by mid week next week, get my usual routine back that includes healthy meals, no snacking, and daily walks out doors.

On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being FANTABULOUS, how did you do in meeting your Intentions for the week? 5.5

Give yourself a pat on the back. What's working? What were your successes? I checked out the Planet Fitness gym that I joined last week.

What's NOT working? What were your struggles? Just plain overeating. The past week or so has been bad. I give in to cravings and just plaint eat too much. Not as bad as it could have been from the days of old, but still over my plan and it isn't helping me any.

Did you exercise this week? YES! lol... sounds silly but I did 1 mile (8 min) on the recumbent bike. I have to be super careful of my knee. My knee was really sore that night and next day but not crippling.

Scale or measured inches UP or DOWN? weigh on Wednesday

Were you kind to yourself this week? What did you do for YOU? I joined the gym. I worked on my puzzle. And Friday on my way home from work I stopped multiple times to take photos of the different wildflowers that are blooming.

A new week means another chance to get it right!
What are your INTENTIONS for this coming week?
- Be more mindful of only eating when hungry, not just grabbing and eating it
- Push my water intake - have slacked off of my 80oz day
- Get to the gym 3x this week

I haven't read posts, so I will have to read up in the morning. Busy Monday at work. My dad is off getting a new (used) car. He's trading in the Ford Fusion and getting a smaller car with hatchback. Jack has a great deal of trouble trying to get into the back seat of the Fusion (he's only got 3 legs), so dad has done tons of research on which car would suit him better. I'm leaving work early today so I can go home for him. He hasn't been left alone all day in years because mom has always been there. So today is his first long period of being home alone. And I love any excuse to get out of the office early emoticon

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Hi Roomies.

Cindy,, hope you can get the swamp mowed. It is fun to have a lot of water but not fun to have to deal with wet grass. It looks like the weather should improve.

Susan, sorry George is falling more often. It is concerning for sure. I'm glad you had a good visit with BIL. It is hard when the activities center around food. Hopefully this week you will be able to figure out things better.

How frightening about the bear. It is frightening. Did the package have food in it? Bears are good at getting into things. Hopefully they will catch it and take it somewhere safer for everyone.

Have a great day.

On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being FANTABULOUS, how did you do in meeting your Intentions for the week? 8

Give yourself a pat on the back. What's working? What were your successes? Did a pretty good reset. I've been more aware and mindful of what goes into my mouth.

What's NOT working? What were your struggles? Still having munchies in the evening. It is frustrating and I'm working on finding other things to do.

Did you exercise this week? yes

Scale or measured inches UP or DOWN? Up a little from a week ago, but am down from the past couple of months

What did you for YOU? Binge watched a series for an afternoon. Got some good fruit and veggies for the week, visited grands and kids.

A new week means another chance to get it right!
What are your INTENTIONS for this coming week?

keep being mindful about eating
avoid snacking
work on strength training
clean out a cupboard or drawer in each room in the house.

Yikes. Hope George is okay and I hope the bear finds a new home out in the wilderness rather than another neighborhood.

Hope you can find the package.

Just came in from mowing some of the back yard (aka the swamp). Hopefully we can get it done before the next round of rain.

We have had a bear in our neighborhood lately. It got into our trash about 10 days ago, and now again last night. We got it all cleaned up and put the trash behind our wrought iron fence. Hopefully that will end the problem.

Last night was not good. Iím lucky if I got 4 hours of sleep. I went in to use the computer when I couldnít sleep and I had a notice that we received a delivery we have been waiting on, but it was nowhere to be seen ... and then the bear. Hopefully things will get better. Oh, and George fell out of bed. Heís been falling every 1-2 months lately, the worse being when we were in S CA and he tripped and fell on concrete.

Sounds like a good plan. Better safe than sorry.

We have been in rain for over a week now. We have had almost 4 inches this month and are expecting more this coming week.

George colors my hair for me. He wants to wait until next week. Thatís probably good as itís not completely healed from the abrasion.

We had that snow a few days ago, and itís been raining on and off since then. We

Yeah Susan. Should be good to color as long as there are no open wounds. Good luck.

Enjoy WG. It has been raining here for over a week, we are saturated and rain is in the forecast for the next several days still, but much less likely.
