Linda Sounds like a nice thing to have enough jams and jellies to do inventory! My favorite jam is seedless black raspberry. Not a jam or jelly, but my next favorite is apple butter.

This morning went through nearly a week's worth of snail mail piling up on the sun room table. Then sorted and cleaned top shelf of upper basement landing pantry (jams, jellies, etc) and inventoried them.

Today I spent the morning decluttering for others. Our Lions Club is holding a tag sale this coming Friday & Saturday so a few of us have been spending the week so far taking items out of storage, cleaning if necessary, sorting, arranging and pricing. I was very good. I myself brought a number of items in to donate, and walked away with nothing purchased today to take home -- a NSV (non-scale victory) for me!

I timed myself tidying up the kitchen this morning after last night's pumpkin party. I put pumpkin seeds in the oven after drying them out overnight and set the timer for an hour. While they were toasting the girls were in the kitchen working on biology (D13) and math (D10) and I worked to make the room livable once more. After that I finished up the washing and drying of the laundry and have been putting it away in drawers, closets, and overnight bags.

I pulled the girls sleeveless shirts, shorts, summer pajamas, and summer dresses from the dressers and shared closet this morning. The plan is to sort these today into save for spring bins or give/sell bags. I placed my summer clothes in a bin over the weekend and placed my fall ones in my closet and dresser. I had nothing to give/sell as I already did that when the older girls were home at the end of August.

Managed to have a mini yard sale this weekend. Not bad for no advertising. What didn't sell is packed up for donation -- hoping to follow up on that this week.

Goal is to have a mini yard sale Friday/Saturday. No advertising. Just stick a sign up. Have some big things: a cedar glider and 2 outdoor dining tables that need washing, a rattan chair, possibly a leather chair (haven't quite made up my mind about that). Now I've got to price & organize smaller things. That's got to be done today!

Went through a stack of crafts and paintings with the girls this morning. They were good with throwing about half away. Most tossed were first tries they weren't happy with (these should have been thrown out the day they did them).

I washed the kitchen rugs outside today. They are drip drying in the sun. Now I plan to tackle the both bathrooms and put up a new shower liner.

Back to the kitchen today for round two of scrubbing the walls. I'm also getting down on my hands and knees to scrub mop the kitchen floor, too.

Gone all afternoon to stores for fall shopping needs - included getting some new baskets for sorting and carrying things on the stairs more safely in a small basket with handle. lso got cleaning supplies and supplies to repaint and letter the sign at the end of our driveway.

For Weight loss efforts: got a new cloth measure tape to take measurements, Remembered my resolve to not buy candy [all the trick-or-treat candy is such a temptation] but did get some Vit C cough drops for the dry mouth and throat in church, I even put back the peppermint hard candies I usually have. Got a few other things that were on menu plans coming up.

A few weeks ago I cleared a load of clutter from various shelves. Problem was I started running out of time so put a lot of it in bags to sort out later. Of course I haven't got round to it. Now I'm trying to deal with my insomnia and I know somewhere in one of those bags, there are some magnesium tablets. So project for this afternoon/evening is to start going through the bags and dealing with the 'stuff' properly!

Back at it after two weeks with all four girls here and lots of activity. D20 and D18 went through all their clothing to decide what to take to college this fall, save for winter, give away (to me and D13), add to the costume pile, or throw away (or add to the rag pile). Now D13 needs to once again go through her clothes to see what she's outgrown to add to D10's fall wardrobe. She will start on that this afternoon.

Today D13 and I harvested vegetables from the community garden. After that I began cleaning out the refrigerator to make room for the produce we brought home.

Wow, Jyl, you should have good feelings all around -- you've really accomplished a lot. I'm taking the weekend off, just an easy job of cleaning out my shelves and drawers in my kitchen island. I don't expect to be able to get rid of anything but at least it will be freshly cleaned.

This week I've done a lot!

I cleaned out my pantry and organized everything -it wasn't too bad but I have two food cupboards and I want to eliminate the smaller one eventually. Had a lot of food that was from our son, stuff we can't eat that he didn't take with him when he moved out. I guess I thought I was hanging on to it for him so I hadn't cleared it out. The whole pantry is much more accessible now.

Also still sorting through a couple of bins of misc. junk that I had gathered up during our big decluttering session in July. Most of it can go, but I have to sort through it so I'm doing 10 minutes a day on that job. And I found still another box of homeschooling books that can be donated -- that HAS to be the last of them! emoticon

This morning hubby helped me move a table out of the basement to put at the curb with a FREE sign on it - it was awkward to move by myself or it would've been gone already.

And I sorted through a little shelving unit in the garage and got rid of a bunch of junk/garbage and washed it down and now it's usable again and not just heaped with stuff. emoticon Have two more units to do but that's enough for one day.

Also swept half of the garage and my last job is to make some room in the back of the garage for another set of snow tires that we are getting for my 'new' (used) car next week. My old car Betsy is 19 years old and so we're decluttering her out of the laneway this week. She's had a good life but it's time for her to go (I call her Betsy because her license plate starts with BTZE) (I always name our cars, lol) emoticon

I am almost at the end of decluttering - there are only a few things that I need to have hubby's help to haul away - a bed, a bookcase and a recliner - but he has to be careful because he has back/neck problems so he's not always 'up' to doing the heavy lifting and these things need to be taken to the dump. emoticon

I didn't quite get rid of as many books over the summer as I thought I would but I can maybe do another round next spring. I have an old encyclopedia set that I have to rip the covers off and recycle the insides (no thrift stores will accept encyclopedias any more) - that will be a job for next month, I think.

Hubby will be retiring in 3-4 years and if we were to downsize we'd still have to make some hard choices about stuff - hubby convinced me to keep my big oak desk - but this might be the last time it avoids being put at the curb. And we definitely have to get rid of more books - we got rid of 5 tall bookcases but we still have too many. I don't want to have to move them all.

So, still decluttering here, but at a slower pace - only have one box of donations for the thrift store and it's not even half full - kind of a good feeling! emoticon
