I would add to this that the working poor are often working two or three jobs, so it makes cooking and shopping all that much more difficult.

One of the really great things about McDougall and the WFPB lifestyle, is the cost savings of eating good healthy foods. It is estimated that compared to SAD eating, WFPB saves 16% of a food budget. And that alone says nothing of the cost savings of staying healthy!

There's much more to poverty than meets the eye. The ability to cook, the learning to cook, the equipment and time needed to cook and prepare, the roof over our heads, and the constant stress of paying bills and holding down a job with child care or elder care. Poverty is rarely a choice, it's usually an unexpected circumstance that visits a person. No one is immune.

You might identify with some of the article below if you've ever been poor.
