5/23...A couple of things I did were...

Take the stress out of weighing in. (I only do it once a week and it's not my only measure of success).

Pave the way for persistence. (I track my food daily no matter what).

Learn from yourself. (I adjust my plan when something doesn't work for me).


5/24...As for something I'm doing now that I wasn't a month ago is eating ready made protein bowls for dinner. Portion control!

Even the Tin Man knows the power of walking on your health and weight loss goals. For good heart health, 10,000 steps per day is what is recommended. Get our and take a walk whenever you can - lunch hours, after work, on the weekends, etc.

Fun fact: When it came time to dress up Professor Marvel for the opening scene in Kansas, the costumers wanted a coat that looked old yet distinguished. So they went to a thrift store and got a rack of old coats. They finally decided on one, and when Frank Morgan put it on, he discovered a label that read "L. Frank Baum." That's the name of the author of the original novel, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Baum's widow confirmed that (by a staggering coincidence) they did indeed have one of Baum's genuine coats. Let the adventure begin! Do you know how the Munchkins got their name? They are known for munching on some very healthy snacks of course! (not really - but play along anyway).

As you are walking your way through Munchkin City, our friendly Munchkins will be sharing with you some of their best tips and challenges for eating a healthy diet.

Tracker Joe Munchkin stopped by to talk about the importance of tracking our food/calorie intake. Those who are most successful in their weight loss journeys are those that track everything they eat and drink. Tracker Joe has endorsed the SP Nutrition Tracker as being one of the best available. His challenge for first week is to track every bite!

If you don't like the tracker, use a food journal. Find your best method and keep a hard copy of your progress. If it has been awhile, you may want to update your SP goals.

It started out as a quiet day in Kansas. A girl, her dog and a weight loss journey. This Friday, a new FSC Challenge will begin! The Ruby Slippers Weightloss Challenge!

Each week in May will take Dorothy and Toto down the yellow brick road where she will find weight loss at the end of the rainbow! As one of our Dorothy crew, your goal will be to lose weight each week. You'll meet interesting characters along the way that will offer advice and help you stay on the right road.
