What do you think of the main character?
I liked him. He was very human - flawed in his own ways - but very decent and kind.

Do you think you could be friends with him/her?
Not really, he didn't seem prone to making friends easily and neither I am. He would be a great person to have on your side if you were ever falsely accused of a crime, though.

Does the main character resemble anyone in your family?
Perhaps my husband. My husband is a fairly big man, like the Marshall, and he tries to help people as much as possible. Sometimes his work and other responsibilities get in the way of things he could be doing at home.

What did you think of the plot?
It was good.

Did it flow or seem to lag?
It definitely flowed - I read it quickly because it was interesting.

What secondary character was your favorite?
The Marshall's wife.

Would you like to visit the place the story takes place?
I'm not much of a traveler to begin with and this particular book described the seedier side of things more than the beauty of the place.

How did you like the ending?
I'm glad it ended on a hopeful note as far as the Marshall's family was concerned. The ending in regard to the murderer was disturbing and sad.

What else did you find interesting or not in the story?
It was an interesting glimpse into the lives of transgender people who feel disenfranchised from the general population. It was also interesting to read about the inner workings of the Marshall's mind. I could relate to him standing around, feeling apart from people or even in the way sometimes, while observing and noticing others and perhaps being too sensitive at times.
