I don't think my Instapot is 5 quarts, but perhaps. I do know my automatic rice cooker pot is about twice the size. I've used the rice cooker to steam foods, and will try some baking in it. Our oven is goofy, and we are renters. I don't want the daffy landlord in the apartment so we use the oven for storage.

I grew up in Orange County California, and watched every Sunday as Tinkerbell left the Matterhorn for the magic castle at the close of Disneyland.

I'm hoping to find some assistance with my using the instapot. Will start with chicken, as that's fairly inexpensive. I can always make chicken salad, eh? hahaha

I was going to make brisket, but decided to use my countertop roaster. That worked just grand actually. 200F for an hour a pound. I also trimmed the visible fat to almost 1/4". Let the knife do the work on that btw.

Also made rotisserie chicken in insta pot this evening: doesn't look as pretty as store bought but tastes great emoticon

@MAROO358. I got a new cookbook entitled HEALTYH INSTANT POT COOKBOOK with 100 recipes with fewer calories and Less Fat! The author is Dana Angelo White, MS, RD, ATC

There are quite a few recipes there that fit well if someone is dieting or not. (I am, hubby is ideal weight). The book has a lot of information and step by step instructions!

Hope this helps! You can also google for Instant Pot Recipes and find many free on-line!

Pat

Use an UpWalker when walking outside as I am very unsteady.

Hello fellow members, hubby and I bought ourselves a 6 quart insta pot for Christmas. Any ideas on how to get started? Any good beginner recipes/cookbooks/websites you would recommend?
