Thanks for the congrats! I don't really do anything half way. . . I have a 7 mile road race a week from Sunday.

It is a family tradition. I ran/walked it last year and I am hoping to run more of it than I did last year.

I am planning on conquering a 5k in September.

How about you? As you get closer to the end what is your plan?

Congratulations, Alyson! Props to you for finishing out Week 9 on your own!

I'm at W8D3, so I'm almost there... crazy to think that I'm finally at the home stretch!

Any plans for a 5k in your future?

Well that's all she wrote.

I finished up Week 9 Day 3 tonight. Not sure if there is anyone else out there in Week 9 with me. . . but it was a tough run.

I stuck with it and finished up the program. I feel like I can officially call myself a runner.

It wasn't always pretty. . . sometimes it was downright unsightly, but that is the price you pay.

I'm going to celebrate with a new pair of running sneakers.

In looking at the number of posts out here on Week 9 I just want to take a moment to say congrats to anyone that gets here. We are a select few, with the grit and determination to push through. I maybe alone at this point in my journey but we each push each other through.

Thanks! Good luck on this crazy journey of becoming a runner!

Not my best run . . .but not my worst. Day 2s are always kind of hit or miss for me.

I got stuck at a street light for 30 seconds so I jogged in place, and then added an extra 30 to the end of the run. I was SO close to 2.5 miles tonight. 2.47 . . . Week 9 Day 3 I will conquer it!

I tried sprinting at the end. . . I have a feeling I looked a bit like a lunatic, but whatever! I made it like 30 seconds sprinting and my body said no more.

Week 9 Day 3 on Wednesday . . . Kind of Crazy!

W9D2 done, 6:45 am. The weather was absolutely heavenly. Nice and cool, not humid at all. I ran 2.5 miles in about 35 minutes, which is slower than usual, but my goal for today was to get through it. I like running outside SO much better than the treadmill. One more day, then I will work on my time. Yay!

Okay Week 9 Day 1 - DONE! I was one of my better runs in a while. I felt good going into it, and through about minute 27. The end was a tough push, but felt great when it was done.

Ran around 2.5 miles in 31 minutes. I need to get something that outputs my mileage because I'm kind of OCD about exact mileage.

Onto Day 2 on Sunday!!!

W9D3 COMPLETE!!! emoticon Now what? I've been doing all of my training on the treadmill. I'm soooo, not a hot/humid weather person. I give all you folks who run outside A LOT of credit. So I guess my next goal will be to run for 30 minutes outside. I have a charity run on September 12, so I guess that my next target date. Then the Turkey Trot in November. I just want to keep going, because although I don't LOVE running, it's a really great, relatively east exercise. Now I guess I'll go check out the graduation thread.

Wow great job on dominating that 30 minute run!!!

I am hoping to get to 2.5 miles in 30 minutes, keeping me around a 12 min mile. I run outside so its not as easy to get the mileage/pace completely accurate.

One day left for you . . .craziness! Congrats!

W9 D2 today. Took a lot more than 9 weeks, but I never thought I would get this far. Increased speed to 5 mph on the treadmill for the entire 30 min (up to 5.5 for the last min). Best run yet. Only one more run to go, then what?? emoticon

WAY TO GO, all of you! We have so much to celebrate!!!

I finished D3 today in 34:34, so I knocked 1 1/2 minutes off my time from Monday.

I just wanted to say that, as I run, I'm often thinking of all of you and how supportive you have been in this C25K journey. I think about what I want to post and what all of you will post after your runs. I haven't told a lot of people about my new quest for health and fitness so it's great to have a group of people to talk to and share those milestones. Thank you for being there, and see you all in the C25K Graduate thread!

CONGRATS Linda! I'm so happy for you!

W9D3 DONE here too! I've finished the program and will cross the finish line of my first 5k in 2 days! This program has been amazing. When I look back at the first weeks I can vividly remember when the 3 minute interval was coming up and DH and I saying we didn't know if we would be able to make it. Now we're running for half an hour. He'll finish the 5k on Saturday in the 30 minute run time. My goal is to finish in 52 minutes (48 would be amazing!). But in the end, what matters is that I will have done it!

WOOOOHOOO! W9D3 DONEDONEDONE! Today was a big milestone for me - some very meaningful events: 1) I completed this program - I never thought I could be a runner! But now I am! 2) I weighed in at 130 this morning, which puts my total weight loss at 50 pounds! I never thought I would ever see 130 again. 3) It has been 1 year today since I started this healthy lifestyle (altho I didn't find SP until August) and finally, 4) today is my 52nd Birthday, and I feel 10 years younger than I did last year!!

So I want to thank everyone on this thread for all the posts that encouraged me to stay focussed and complete this program. Whether you knew it or not, just by posting your comments, each one of you has had a hand in helping me, and knowing there were others like me slogging along really got me thru this.

WOOHOO WE ARE RUNNERS! All the best to those who are working on their last week! Linda emoticon

W9D2 done! I ran on the greenway again today, but crossed the bridge (to get to the other side, haha) - was a bit of a mistake as that side had way less shade! Won't do that again until summer is over!

Congrats Denise, Karen, BCSCLS, KansasRose and everyone else who is persevering with their runs in this hot weather! One more run to go - I'm so excited!!

Awesome Denise you got your run done outside. I can't imagine doing mine on a treadmill or inside but probably something I should try with Upstate NY winters coming up.

Karen, I know your feeling on hot and sweaty I don't think I have every sweat so much in my life as I have the last 3 months.

Good luck everyone with those last few days.

Good luck with your run tomorrow Amy, piece of cake now. I know I have not been able to encourage anyone to join me yet either except for my cousin but she lives on the other side of the country. C25K does rock, we are runners!! What are you going to do after you finish this week?

W9D1 tomorrow. It's amazing that we're making it through the program. I keep encouraging my friends to try it. They say, "I can't run". I used to say that, but not anymore. C25K rocks.

W9D1 down for me today. I decided to change it up and run on the trail instead of the streets in town but really did not see that much difference, other than I need to remember to get out there early because it is hot! Then I got home and my neighbor called to see if I wanted to go for a walk so I went out for a 45 minute walk with her. Woo hoo!!

Happy running everyone, W9 we are in the home stretch!

Congrats to all of you! You're all doing great, and for those who haven't finished week 9 yet, you're so close!!!

Unfortunately, I will not be graduating the program with all of you. I have to postpone until next week. I tried to run on the ship the first day, but the rocking motion made it way too difficult to catch my footing and was a huge strain on my knees. I had to quit after a mile simply because my legs gave out. Even on the treadmill, I thought I was going to fall off. And when we're docked, I'm always ashore on excursions and shopping and everything. Luckily, I've still been active - hiking, dancing, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, and an occasional trip to the Elliptical and strength machines when we're at sea (like today). I'm hoping to complete C25k next week, but since I'm moving from Illinois to Tennessee, I might not have much time, and I'm concern that this week off will put a damper on my endurance. I'll try my hardest though!

Great job again to all of you!!!
